Keep the rats out of the kitchen

The movie started out cute enough, but by the middle I kept thinking "when is this going to be over already???" The plot was boring, predictable and couldn't even keep my 3-year-old engaged. We wound up leaving before the end. I know many others loved this movie, but I was not one of them.

Before I even went to this movie, I made up my mind. My daughter was going to like this movie. It was about food, it was about Paris, the Eiffel Tower is right there in the previews, and a fab French dish name is the title.

What surprised me was how much I loved this movie. I expected it to be more tolerable than your typical animated children's movie fare. But I would go see this movie again - alone! Even though it's animated, they really did the city of Paris justice. When they showed Remy, the chef/rat, running around along the banks of the Seine, I felt like I was transformed back there.

We rented and watched this as a family the other night and we were all entertained! I was impressed that even my husband was getting a kick out of it, as he usually isn't all that interested in animated films. He loved it so much he wants to buy the DVD.

My toddler doesn't get into all kids' movies we sit down to watch, but after it ended she kept saying, "I want more mouse movie!", so now I think we definitely have to purchase it!

This movie is funny and exciting. Yet it does not have any voilence and no one dies. Great story line but I would not want to eat in that establishment.

This movie shows that everything on earth has feelings and we should not step on their feelings. Also, just because they may all look similar, some rats are good rats. Although some turn into gangsters!

The movie also shows that freindship is very important and should never be left behind just because others do not think that you should not be with that one. They are different. Different is wonderful. Difference makes life fun...

A fun film filled with great characters and laugh-out-loud moments. There is an exciting scene in the middle which usually sets up the climax of most films. Instead, it changes the film's direction slightly. This leads to one of the most hilarious final acts I've seen in a cartoon movie in a while, but it did struggle somewhat to get there from that point. My wife and I loved the movie, and we wanted to find a good French restaurant as soon as we left (to peek into the kitchen, as well as for the food).

     Being that our youngest of 4 is high-functioning Autistic and has overpowering sensory issues, this movie totally impressed me!

     Even with the girl sitting behind him sliding the straw in and out of her cup, our son was loving this movie.

     Even with my having to change seats due to the child behind me kicking my chair, and this leaving our son a seat away from my Husband, he was not moving because he didn't want to miss a second of this movie.

     Then, EVEN, when there was a time that I felt the movie had slowed down and my Husband and I both were awaiting our 11 year... review »

Anyone can cook...and here a Rat does!!!

My favorite movie of 2007. So this movie is about a rat who can actually smell out the ingredients of the food. Also he watches the food show of Gusteau...the most famous chef from Paris who wrote a book "Anyone can cook". Somehow he lands up in Paris at Gusteau's restaurant and meets up with this garbage boy who does not know how to cook. So they partner together a find a way in which the rat actually guides the garbage boy into the cooking skill.
A very funny and hilarious movie...pixar has done a great job yet again. 5 on 5 anyday. I already got the dvd on the very first day of its release. Highly... review »

This film is wonderful for all ages! My husband and I both loved it and so did our child. It has a great story line and keeps your interest throughout. My family is big into comedies for the whole family and there were lots of laughs in this movie. I am very picky about what my son can watch and this one I'd let him watch over and over. It's endearing and fun loving! If you have a family or even if it's just you, this movie is perfect for everyone young and old!

A thirty something friend of mine talked me into watching this movie, and I was very skeptical. My friends all call me a critic because I watch a lot of movies and form very strong opinions after viewing them. I loved this movie, and I would recommend it as a Friday night family movie. I loved the character development and the winding plot. I'm hoping this movie will stay in my collection for years to come.

Classic Disney

very picky about Kids films

We went with the whole family to see this film and we all enjoyed it. Tame enough for our 5 year old, yet entertaining enough for my husband and me. Who would have thought they could pull off a successful Disney movie about RATS. Now my daughter thinks the main character is cute and wants the merchandise. Go figure.

Ratatouille is one of the most entertaining movies I've seen in a long time. This movies was so cleverly done, that not only did it keep you in stitches, but it also made you want to cook, and fall in love at the same time. lol

This is a must see!

Loved this movie. It starts off slow so really hang with it and give it a chance. But once it gets started it is a sweet, lovely story and the little rat is precious. My husband and I have pet rats so of course we loved this little critter. Really good film for the entire family with a lot of laughs and some touching teary moments. It may be a little long for real young kids but who knows. The animation is lovely and the concept cute and refreshing. I give it a hearty 2 thumbs up.

I would have never thought that disney was this clever....but once again they underestimated me. I thought that this film had very good graphics and was very interesting. I was blown away at the result of the movie....Would love to take my kids to see it!

I liked Ratatouille, but I didn't love it. The animation was gorgeous, as one would expect from Pixar, but that was really the only thing I liked about it. I wasn't sure about the premise going in, because the thought of a rat being around food sounded gross to me, and nothing in the film warmed me to the idea. My husband and I don't have kids, so we waited several weeks to see the film so that the theater wouldn't be packed with children and we could hear the dialogue.
