I have long been a fan of Pixar films, from Toy Story to A Bug's Life to Finding Nemo and even Cars. Pixar has been releasing solid films since Toy Story came out in 1995 and it seems with each release they top themselves in one way or another. Ratatouille is no exception and delivers so spectacularly that the audience cheered and applauded at the finish of the film.

Plot: Remy hopes to one day become a great chef in the magical city of Paris. There is but one problem with that, he's a rat. Determined to follow his dream anyways, Remy falls in league with a young garbage boy at a local bistro. Remy uses the boy to get into the kitchen and cook up some culinary delights.

I loved this movie. I did feel a little weird watching it surrounded by kids of all ages but, I knew I would like this movie and therefor had to see it. The voice acting in this is great, very realistic and very well done. Patton Oswalt, Lou Romano, Brian Dennehy, Janeane Garofalo, and Ian Holm are some of the actors who voiced the main characters and, like I said, they did a great job. Of course, the animations were nice as well, but Ratatouille isn't really about the animations or the voice acting, it's about the story. My eyes were locked on the screen the entire time the film was on. I couldn't have moved them away if I'd tried, it's that good. Having been in a bistro kitchen, much like the one in this movie, I could really relate to everything that was going on and that, in itself, made me laugh. This movie is just a solid animated movie, which it seems is getting harder to find lately. There are a lot of animated movies on the market today but, rarely do they really shine and captivate audiences like Ratatouille does.

The kids in the theater were giggling and sometimes exploding in laughter because of how funny it was; even I burst out laughing a few times. If you're looking for a great movie the whole family can enjoy, Ratatouille is the one to see. But, this isn't just for kids. People of all ages can enjoy this one, so get to your local theater and check it out. I'm already eager to see what Pixar whips up next.

Great review!! My family loved this movie:) I am always telling my kids to follow their dreams and do what they are passionate about and this movie doesn't just tell them that, it shows them in a way they can understand. I loved the messages in the movie and think there is plenty of action too to keep the kids interested.

Okay, so we made it through a 1/2 hour. Bummer! The first 1/2 hour was really cute. :) The only thing that stunk was the 1/2 hour of previews. Come on... not for a G audience!

Can't wait - I'm also a dedicated Pixar fan. Thanks for the review.

Great review. I saw this over the weekend with my 8 and 6 year old boys. They loved it. The tone and images have really stuck with me. I think the movie will inspire kids every where to follow their dreams. The rats will probably gross out my wife but I think the characters would win her over...
