To the Point

Every year we have tiny ants in our kitchen. They are a nuisance because they get into our dog food. I've always used Raid ant traps but tried a different Raid product called Double Control Ant Baits.

A Closer View

Four square ant traps with two types of food that ants eat are in each container. The package claims that Raid Double Control will kill the colony and keep killing them for three months.

The traps are good for a variety of ants including ordinary household ants.

The pack of four costs about $4.00 which is very reasonable. The way the bait works is the ants carry the bait food back to the nest. The queen and the colony are killed by eating the bait.

They can be used anywhere. Although the Baits are packaged in a child proof container I would not put one anywhere near a place my child could get a hold of these baits. Also they can be dangerous for pets so be careful!

They are very easy to use. All four are supposed to be used at one time. I broke apart the baits since they wee connected and put them on the ledge in front of my kitchen wall. The package says not to use them near food preparation areas since they were on my back wall where my toaster oven, etc, are I had to put them behind these appliances.

They last for about three months but if your experience is like mine then you won't need them for three months.

I put them down and within two days every ant was gone. I could see them going to the bait and then heading to wherever they were living.

The active ingredient in Raid Double Control is .05% Avermectin B1.

Raid is an SC Johnson Company.

I like it!

Thanks that's good to know. Sometimes we have problems in our basement. Nicely done Jo.

Tero was the max for ants, but they took out the arsenic, since people were killing their spouses with it I think. I read too many true crime books as we can see.

No matter now cute they are, those little critters do not have a right to live in my space, either. I have bumble bees and yellow jackets try to infest my quarters from time to time, so Raid is a good product I've used many times. Great job, Jo!

I have used Raid on occassion and it's great. When I first moved into my house it was infested with ants. We had ants in a line across the floor and even a little blanket of moving black bodies covered an electrical socket! Crazy stuff! We decided that a strip of Raid down the kitchen was not good and we called a local pest company. Now we have ants, spiders and earwigs *huge shudder* out of the house and not overrunning the property.
