My son got the Radio Flyer Classic Tiny Trike for his first birthday. He liked it the minute it was assembled. He continues to enjoy flying around on it (he is 3), but his little sister enjoys it more now. She is 18 months and the perfect age to "trike around on it". My daughter views it as her bike-- as she rides behind my son on his bike with training wheels.

The things I like about the Radio Flyer Classic Trike:

  • The bike was a gift from my Dad. He said the assembly was pretty easy (although I dont know first hand) and was about $50-- but you can get online sales or coupons
  • If your child falls, it isnt too far from the ground
  • The bell on the bike is the biggest hit of all-- providing entertainment for hours
  • The center wood piece is thick, but not too thick, offering stability and support
  • The seat is not super cushiony- but comfortable
  • We can use the bike inside in the winter and outside in the summer (although you need to bring it in since it is wood)

I think this is a perfect gift for a 12-18 month old.. and it provides entertainment for years to come.
