Tuesday I took my best friend's 10-year-old grandson, Hunter, to see Race To Witch Mountain. I owed him a movie because I took his younger sister Halie to see the Hannah Montana Movie. He chose this movie and by the time we were able to squeeze it in with his baseball practice and banjo lessons we got a date. Fortunately for me it had already left the big theaters and gone to the multi-cinemas and games complex where every movie is $2.00 every day!
I had seen previews for the movie and knew I also wanted to see it. I could vaguely remember the older movies EscapeTo Witch Mountain (1975) and ...
review »There's a lot to be said for being able to return to your childhood. Movies like Get Smart and the upcoming Land of the Lost allow me to do just that. I was also able to do that with the recent Return to Witch Mountain, remembering Escape to Witch Mountain and its two sequels, but the funny thing is I really don't remember too much about those movies. review »Ask me to describe Disney's Race to Witch Mountain in one word and what would I say?
Fun.
Race to Witch Mountain is a re-imagining of the classic Disney film Escape to Witch Mountain and it stars ex-wrestler Dwayne Johnson (known to many as "The Rock") as cab driver Jack Bruno who has to drive two mysterious kids, Seth and Sara (played by Alexander Ludwig and AnnaSophia Robb) to recover a device that may or may not spell doom to the entire planet Earth. They are being pursued by the U.S. Government as well as a truly evil creature called the Siphon, which has only one purpose, which is to destroy...
I am reviewing "Race to Witch mountain". the effects were outstanding. the mystery and action was constant from the start and never stopped. The humor was also very good. the humor was just enough to keep me from being too tense from all the action. I also loved how they added the two people who played "Tony" and "Tia" into the story. their parts were small but significant. this is a must see for everyone but it helps to watch "Escape to witch mountain" and "Return from witch Mountain" as they are referred to in this movie.
