The REI Base Camp 4 tent is the ultimate car camping tent. We have used it for three years now under all kinds of conditions. We have never had any leaks during heavy rain, nor have we been uncomfortable during hot summer nights as the tent is very well ventilated. It served us well by retaining warmth when night temperatures were in the 20's while fall camping in Yellowstone.

The Base Camp 4 is a high quality free-standing four person tent, optimal for two or three people to have plenty of room. The dimensions are 60" in height and the floor area of 100" x 86" - 60 sq. feet. (There is also a larger six person REI Base Camp 6 model.) It is very easy to put up; I can do it alone in about ten minutes.

It is thoughtfully designed and comes with two doors, a full rain fly (with window) that creates a large vestibule area. The rain fly repels rain exceptionally well and retains warmth as needed. The tent also has interior storage pockets, stakes and a storage duffel.

The current price for this tent is $339 ($40 for the optional foot print). The REI Base Camp 4 tent is a masterpiece for family camping, car camping or as use for a base camp tent. REI's excellent service and high quality standards back it.
