I guess it doesn't say much about my social life when my best friend is my remote control. My TV is so old the original remote died a long time ago after years of service. Now under my thumb is the RCA Universal Remote Control. At first, I hated it because I couldn't work it. After studying the instruction manual, my father programmed the code for my brand of television into the remote. At first, when I would flip through the channels(I confess I'm a constant channel flipper), the remote would always turn off. I finally learned how to program the numbers into the remote, and now it stays on and doesn't turn off. I was about to give up on it at one point until the remote decided to behave.

The remote is long and sturdy which it needs to be because I give it a good work out. I also lay on it accidentally or knock it to the floor. The buttons are easy to push, and my fingers have not faded out the print. With the remote being big, it is hard to lose, and it lasts for a while on the batteries. We may have had a rough start, but it's turned out to be a beautiful relationship.
