I got a new RCA HD50LPW175 Scenium TV in 2006. I hardly ever used it because of a busy lifestyle. After two years I could not turn on the set. All that happened was the blue lights in front flashed five times and the set would not come on. The trouble shooting section in the manual stated that this was an indication of a bad bulb. I bought a new bulb and installed it. Still did not work. I took it to an authorized RCA repair facility and they said there was a problem with the power supply which would cost $400-$600 to repair. I had been reading terrible reviews about this particular model on the internet. I went back to the repair center and I told them I was cutting my losses and he coukd keep the set and use it for spare parts. I was not interested in spending any money on such a piece of junk. I will never buy an RCA again, and certainly not another DLP.
