We were looking for a nice mini home stereo system to fit a small space in our family room. We wanted to be able to play the radio, several CD's at a time (I like variety) as well as have the option of headphones.  A remote was optional, but not essential. Our choice the RCA 300-Watt Compact Stereo with iPod Dock.

What does the RCA 300-Watt Compact Stereo with iPod Dock have to offer?

  • 300 watts total system power
  • iPod Dock
  • 5-CD
  • Digital AM/FM tuner
  • Audio Line In for connection to your MP3 player
  • Compatible formats: DVD, DVD/R/RW/JPEG/CD/CD-R/RW
  • Tuner Type Digital Tuner
  • Tuner Presets 32
  • Amplifier / Speakers
  • Speaker Bands 2 Way
  • Woofer Size 5.25 in.

This mini stereo system fits the bill for us.  It is very easy to use and takes up very little space.  Within minutes my husband had it out of the box and up and running, even the remote was programmed.  It is heavy enough I don't have to worry about the children knocking it down or doing to much damage to it.  I can easily place 5 compact discs of varying types of music sure to please everyone in the household from adults to preschoolers.  The RCA 300-Watt Compact Stereo with iPod Dock is not the BEST in quality sound, but when you are listening to Mary Had a Little Lamb you don't really notice that it is only "good enough."  At $144.00 it was a good bargain and my son appreciates that he can easily use the docking station for his iPod and I like that I can easily use it without having to adjust this and move that. I simply turn on my RCA 300-Watt Compact Stereo with iPod Dock drop in some CD's or chose from one of my preset tuner channels.

Overall, the RCA 300-Watt Compact Stereo with iPod Dock is a nice little system. Not bad, but not great. It is easy to use and inexpensive. It does everything we want it to. However, be sure to set it up high as your children will quickly learn how to use the one button push to turn on and crank up the volume with a twist of their hand.

I also have an RCA 5-CD stereo system in my living room. Mine is approximately 7 or 8 years old so it's not like yours but it serves the purpose for me. I love to program tracks from all 5 CDs and listen to the music while cleaning. Hmm...I think that may be the only time I use the stereo in the living room. I have the speakers in different rooms so I have surround sound ;+)
