Qwest Review Summary

One of the more popular names in the business, Qwest Cell Phone Service is one of dozens of companies ready to take your cell phone dollars. Reviewers say that Qwest Cell Phone Service offers very inexpensive cell phone service plans and the family plan is exceptionally economical. Qwest Cell Phone Service gets plenty of strongly opinionated comments from reviewers and they include things like “Wonderful Customer Service”, “Never a Dropped Call”, and “For the Money, You Can’t Beat it But the Customer Service Sucks!”. The inconsistencies with customer service seem to be the greatest drawback with Qwest Cell Phone Service and reviewers are not very impressed with the quality of the network either. Put everything together, and you have a Communication service that doesn’t rate as highly as it could.

I have had Qwest for 2 years and will continue with them.  Have never had a problem;  never experienced a dropped call;  never had to worry about too much static;  never had to worry about anything with them.  It has been a great relationship and I thank them.

Qwest is a good company but what I don't like is that they do not have very good reception. If you go a little bit out of town there are no bars and it enters the roaming, and then when you go back it takes a long time for the cell to go back to bars.

The price is a little high for me and now I am waiting...

I can't really speak to the actual quality of the DSL service. However, the customer service and bureaucracy is the worst I've ever encountered.

I contacted a third-party web site about getting more information about Qwest DSL. They signed me up for installation rather than just more information (not Qwest's fault).

Then the Qwest run-around started...

I received mail from Qwest saying that I would be called to schedule installation. I figured I could just cancel when they called me. Instead, they sent me an install disk (no modem) and scheduled service activation without ever calling.

I then called...

We've been using Qwest Wireless since our building reconstruction in late 1999-2000 (we started in 2000). Though we were unhappy about changing from our original Nokia phones to Motorola phones because of something the company did to change their system, we have found the Motorola phones to be more durable in the long run. It was especially important when my brother had a life-threatening emergency in 2003 and I had to call 9-1-1. Even though it's tempting to get a phone that has gadgets to match a computer, we've found that a basic phone is good enough for our basic needs (being connected while... read full review »

I would not recomend this company at all. Customer service they have are not well trained with the guidelines of the company. If you talk to them on the phone they will say one thing today and if you call them back next day there word is different. Qwest will tell you one price that you will be receiveing and when you receive bill is much higher than expected. I would recomend qwest to inform and train well there reps instead of letting them say whatever they want. I personally spoke to a lady at qwest and she said that i didnt have to believe what she said? Beacause i had told her that her co...

I have used Qwest for my cell phone for about 12 years now. The only reason I have stayed with them this long is that no one else can give me the family plan deal I have, it's cheap! However, calls frequently get dropped, my daughter can be in the middle of her school and be fine one minute and roaming the next or have no serice at all, depending on how many steps she takes. I agree our phones go on roaming more frequently than before and whenever you call customer service, they don't know how to help you or how to explain anything. I think when my latest contract is up, I'm looking for someone... read full review »

When moving into our new subdivision we thought we would just be able to transfer our phone service from across town to our new home address.  Boy were we wrong, the contractor and QWEST are at issue over who should pay to have the lines laid out.  So we now have no landline access to phones.  We had to go get cell phones and since we had DSL internet has to go with Verizon wireless internet.  Not so thrilled with QWEST right now.  I hope they can eventually get this figured out and we will be able to get on with our lives with phones.  Until then we are stuck with two year contracts on the...

My husband and I recently changed our cell phone service to Qwest. We recieved great customer service when we purchased our new plan. The cost is managable. I wouldn't say it's "cheap", but it's definately not too expensive. We've had a few problems with dropped calls and the internet service provided to our phones is not always reliable. The text options on my particular phone (W385) are somewhat lacking. Overall, it hasn't been a bad phone. I don't know that I would recommend it, per se, but it is an ok phone if you don't mind dropped calls and tempermental internet service.

I like all of the services they provide at one low price, such as text for 5 cents each to a max of $5 then free and e-mail service for a low price.  But it seems like my phone roams more and more these days, which can increase the price way too much and be very inconvenient.  Also, I forgot to pay my bill on time (by a week) and all of a sudden I couldn't use my phone.  They had just turned it off, they didn't even contact me to let me know.  It really sucked.   I don't know if other services do that or not, however.

I switched to Qwest after several problems with Cox. I was expecting the same level of horrible customer service and have been very pleasantly surprised at how well Qwest has treated me. They are calm, polite, and intelligent on the phone and courteous, knowledgable, and punctual when they come to the house. I have written to the company on several occasions telling them how nice it is to have wonderful service, no matter what the issue is. I haven't had any billing or service outage problems and the price is better than Cox too.

We are new users to Qwest Services and we are so pleased with the results. We have subscribed to their Internet and Phone service and couldn't be happier. The Internet Service they provide has daily specifics of updates and the status of your computer and the phone service is wonderful. We got a package for Unlimited Long Distance, Caller ID, Call Waiting and Voicemail for only $40! The Customer Service is unserpassed. I would reccommend this company to anyone!

In all the years that I have had Qwest there never has been a problem. No dropped calls, customer service has been great and if you do have a problem it is taken care of fast.Like the idea of free long distance anytime and have not had to pay any roaming charges.

Qwest service is unreliable and very expensive for what you receive.  You have several dropped calls a day and the service is not clear
