Most HelpfulI'm always in search of a tasty breakfast that is quick and easy to prepare, but will also increase my daily fiber intake. I've heard over and over again how good oatmeal is for the heart and for dieting, but the taste of regular oatmeal is so plain that I defeat the purpose by adding sugar, syrup, butter...

Most HelpfulI have high cholesterol. Everyone knows oatmeal is supposed to be good for that, so I decided to get some oatmeal. The doctor didn't say anything about my weight, so I was looking at all the oatmeals. I picked the Weight Control instant oatmeal, because the flavor sounded good - banana bread. Yum. I...
review »So I'm always trying to watch what I eat and stay fit and healthy for my kids. I try to set a good example for them by doing myself, what I tell them to do. Well, my kids love cereal, and oatmeal is a big staple in our pantry. They love oatmeal on their own accord, I've never pushed it on them, they just asked for it once and have loved it since. But I thought I should probably eat it too. It's suppose to be good in lowering cholesterol, low in sugar etc and it would show my kids that I do eat right. I've never, EVER liked hot cereal though. It always used to make me gag when I was a kid, so...
review »I had a box of Quaker Oats Maple Brown Sugar weight control in my cupboard, and thought I would eat that on a Sunday as oppose to cereal.
Let me just say that the foul odor of this cereal has not left our household for 2 days now, and I scrubbed the microwave clean, and threw a few oranges and lemons in our garbage disposal after dumping this toxic waste down the sink
The smell is very powerful, and then becomes rancid, and almost smells like a bad batch of very strong and odorous spices.
I would not recommend this cereal, and I am an oatmeal lover.
The taste is very strong, and has that "artificial"...
review »I've been eating oatmeal (or porridge, as I call it) my whole life for breakfast. I'd much rather start of the day with a hot meal than a cold one, and so do my children.
Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal is delicious, all five of my family love it, there's no discernible taste from the original, except that it's low in sugar and high in fiber. If I have a bowl in the morning, I don't feel the urge to snack mid-morning.
It lends itself well to being mixed with fruit, such as chopped up bannanas, or blueberries, more importantly, my three sons love it too. I do make it with lowfat milk rather...
review »I love oatmeal. Always have, always will. My mom used to cook those old fashioned oats for us before school We'd throw on the brown sugar, pour on the milk... wonderful! Then when I was in about 5th grade, this microwavable oatmeal was introduced in the market. It took some getting used to, but I got it down to where I could make it perfectly! Now, my kids won't eat it unless I make it- Grandma doesn't do it right, you see! Still, it has a high sugar content and although it takes great, it's something that concerns me.
Imagine my surprise when I saw the weight control oatmeal. "How bad could it...
review »I first saw quaker oat weight control oatmeal, couple weeks ago while I was shopping I liked the idea with having extra fiber and protein to keep you full. Which it does! I stayed full off this this packet of oatmeal for up to 5 hours. Anyway I first tried the Banana bread oatmeal and it was great, it even smelled like banana bread taking it out of the microwave.
Next I tried the cinnamon flavor, I actually like this flavor at much as the banana bread because I like cinnamon flavor things.
Then I tried the Maple and brown sugar, I thought this one tasted pretty good too, it was sweeter then the...
review »There have been a lot of healthy options offered by packaged food manufacturers, but most offer a simple, easy to understand statement such as "low-fat, low-sugar or "no-trans fats." This, however, is a much more studied, intelligent offering. It's high in protein and fiber (both of which make you feel full), and its low in sugar. It has more calories than their regular flavored instant, but that's not the point. If it makes you feel full, you'll eat less later. That's the point. Kudos to Quaker for recognizing that consumers are intelligent.
i am a very unhealthy eater...i love all the sweets and junk food and empt carbs. when i saw weight control oatmeal, i decided to try some! the flavors sounded good and i also needed to increase my dietary fiber, eat more whole grains, and get maybe a bit more protein. so when i took my first bite, i loved it! I am now an oatmeal junkie and weight contol oatmeal has killed my cravings for other sweets and has helped my with my weight! im so glad i found this stuff and now i want to eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert!
