Quaker True Delights Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Granola Bars —

Granola bars mark the beginning of most of my mornings during the week and like with other foods, I like to have a variety of granola bars from which to choose. One newer granola bar to hit the store shelves is one that sounds promising. It is Quaker True Delights Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond, a granola bar made with delectable ingredients.

Granola Commentary:

Quaker True Delights Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond bars are small bars that look like a typical granola bar. Like with most granola bars, one can easily see the rolled oats used in the process, but in addition, there are whole almonds, almond pieces, bits of raspberry, and small chunks of dark chocolate. The texture of these granola bars is chewy, but not excessively so, and the taste is generally good with a combination of oats, raspberry, nuts, and dark chocolate. The flavor is raw and natural, however, the bars also have a slightly- paper like taste.

Quaker True Delights Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond bars are one of the more recent entries into the crowded granola/cereal bar market and they offer a nice diversion from the usual granola bar. I love chocolate more than most people and I also love raspberry. With ingredients like these- along with almonds- these granola bars sounded very promising.

After sampling a few Quaker True Delights Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond bars, my feelings are mixed. The bars are sweet, as expected, but also a little stickier than I prefer and a little too prone to falling apart. It is common to find me eating granola bars while driving to work in the morning so I need a granola bar that will hold itself together. I can’t have a granola bar that falls apart, but these bars do, indeed, crumble fairly easily, which is unusual when you consider the level of stickiness.

Taste- wise, Quaker True Delights Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond are certainly more complex in flavor than the average granola bar and they offer a pleasant flavor combination. However, I can't say that the taste is as incredible as I expected. I love dark chocolate, almonds, and raspberries but among them, the only one that really stands out in the taste is the dark chocolate. I can taste a little almond, but not as much as I like and I can tell there are berries present, but the tiny specs of raspberry are not enough to produce much flavor sensation.

Bottom- Line Viewpoint:

Quaker True Delights Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond bars are good, but not as incredible as I had hoped. They cost more than most other granola bars and there are only five bars per box, so they are not practical for someone who wants to consume several granola bars at a time. I like the dark chocolate flavor and the rolled oats, but the other taste sensations are too mild and there is a certain paper- like quality to the flavor that I can't get off my mind.

All things considered, these bars are good, but not quite as great as I had hoped they would be.

These sound good but everything does to me right now. I'm starving! Happy belated Birthday. I saw you had a birthday this month as did I!

The almonds turned me away! :) Great review, though!
