Puppies Can't Get Enough Of It!

By

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Purina Puppy Chow Healthy Morsels:

All of the dogs I currently have are full grown but there are times when my veterinarian will call me to see if I can take in a couple of puppies and foster them until they can be adopted out. Purina Puppy Chow Healthy Morsels is one of the dog food products that I buy specifically when I know I will be getting a puppy or two. Sometimes they stay for two or three weeks, sometimes they are here longer. I always check with the veterinarian to see what he recommends and if the puppies have any type of dietary restrictions or allergies.

So far all of the puppies that have had this have loved it. It is a nice mix of crunchy pieces and soft pieces. It is designed to give growing puppies the nutrition that they need to grow as well as to stay healthy. A couple of the puppies would dig through the bowl to get the softer pieces but it was never a big deal. When they were hungry they would eat but it did get hard to keep the other dogs from sneaking over and stealing a couple of pieces when they were looking for something to snack on.

You can get this in two sizes; I usually get the smaller 16.5 pound bags if I am not sure how long the puppies will be with me but if I know that I will have one or two of them for more than a couple of weeks I will get one of the 32 pound bags. This does cost a little more than other puppy food but I like that it is a mix of crunchy pieces and soft pieces. I feed each puppy twice a day and they get a cup each time. Sometimes they finish it all, sometimes there's a little left in the bowl. If there are left over pieces I usually put them inside a KONG toy for the other dogs as treats.

The only downside to getting the large bag is having a place to store it. If I have it in the garage I have to put it in a metal or plastic can to keep raccoons from sniffing it out and getting into the garage and ripping the bag open. This isn't the only puppy food that I buy when I have the need for it but when I know that I am going to be fostering puppies I always get a bag of these to make sure they are getting all the essential vitamins and nutrients that they need.

My puppy loves the soft morsels.

Comments about Purina Puppy Chow Healthy Morsels:

I chose the purina healthy morsels for my puppy, and I am so happy I did. I have tried one other type of food and I had to add water to it. My puppy did not like it either. I have tried out healthy morsels and it was easier on my puppy's stomach. I didn't have to add water because it has soft morsels in it. My puppy loves it and it keeps him full until the next feeding. I will feed this to all of my puppies until the appropriate age, but I am sure I will still stick with a purina brand. I am very pleased.

Purina Puppy Chow is awesome!

Comments about Purina Puppy Chow Healthy Morsels:

I recently got a new puppy and have been feeding her Purina Puppy Chow Healthy morsels. I was worried about her eating since she hasn't been away from her mother long but she hasn't even hesitated, she dives right in. She loves the Puppy Chow! It can easily be soaked in hot water to make a mushier food for very young puppies who are still teething, which is great. It is an inexpensive but great quality product. It can be purchased at almost all grocery stores which I feel is convienient because you can just add it to the grocery list and not have to worry about going to a vet or pet store to purchase it. It can be purchased in a large or small bag depending on your puppie's needs. I have been very happy with this product so far and plan to continue using it. I would recommend it to anyone with puppies, big or small. It is a great product at a great price with all the benefits of the more expensive brands.

My dogs love it!

I have 2 female Chihuahuas and a male MinPin and all 3 of them go crazy over Chef Michael's dog food!! They eat it and wag their tale when I ask them : Is that good?? lol

The pieces in the bag are soft and crunchy , but my dogs pick out the soft big meat pices first ! So picky!! They really love this dog food though!

I mostly buy it at Petsmart , where I recently bought it for 10.99.

Chef quality dog food...yum.

Comments about Purina Puppy Chow Healthy Morsels:

My dog goes crazy for Chef Michael food.  The filet mignon flavor bag boasts of having filet mignon with potatoes and green beans.  Most dog food is the generic pet-shapes in a few different colors, but at least with this food you can easily identify what the meat pieces are along with which are the potatoes and the green beans.  This food is quality, healthy food by Purina (which is a brand I've always fed to my dog).  However, based on size and price I tend to only buy this item if I can find it on sale or if I have a coupon for it.  It is more expensive than most other dry dog foods, with the exception of Iams and a few others.  However, it seems to have a higher quality to it at least in apperance and flavor, based on how quickly my dog will eat or food when she's getting Chef Michael.  Most other foods will sit in her bowl for a few hours or even a day before she decides she is hungry enough to eat it but not with Chef Michael.  So if you have a picky eater for a pet this might just be the solution.

Purina Puppy Chow is AWESOME.... or at least it is for my dog.

Comments about Purina Puppy Chow Healthy Morsels:

I'm a dogowner, and I can honestly say that I truly love this brand, I feed some to my puppy everyday. He and I have no problem with it, nope nope, in fact, if I were a canine, I'd eat it myself.

However, I can also say that Ukeneuba (mispelling?) is fairly in competition with Purina. They both have the same excellent qualities and taste to my dog, based on his reaction. I set out 3 bowls: one an IAMS, the other Ukeneuba, and the last one Purina. He pretty muched feared IAMS, which is good because they were having a sale on puppy chow! Yay! But, I have to pick Purina. I don't know what it is: is it the stylish, printed bags? Is it the appeal of the dog on the bag? Could it possibly be that I have selective sight? Maybe, but still, you get my point, it's great.

What's better than a happy dogowner and his/her dog? The puppy chow you give your adorable little furball to keep him healthy, up, and running! Above average product for sure.
