I have a year and a half old golden retriever.  He is our best friend!  When he came home to us he was already on a specific diet.  Our vet recommended not changing it because it could upset his stomach.  After a couple of months we noticed he had very dry skin and was developing small bumps.  The vet checked his skin and said he didn't have any skin diseases.  He recommended a change in diet and suggested we switch to Pro Plan Sensitive Skin with Salmon.  He suspected an allergy to beef.  We made the change and within a week his skin issues began clearing up.  The change in diet was unbelievable; his coat was glossy, his shedding decreased and the bumps disappeared.  The food is quite pricey and coupons are very hard to find.  But if you check for sales at Petsmart and stock up when it's on sale you can save a bundle.  The food is worth every penny spent!
