I have probably used every dog food on the market. I have even had one food kill my dogs.In raising dobermans, I found that the Purina Puppy food caused leg deformities. I told all my buyers, If you cannot feed the best, then use Pedigree Puppy as it does not cause these problems. The vet I worked for said it was the Calcium to Phosphorus ratio that caused these problems. We even had an accidental proving ground as one of our techs used Purina on a dobe pup she got. All the pups in this litter became clients. All but this one used other brands. Only the one on Purina had leg problems. Hundreds of dollars in tests later, she still could not find the problem. When she was finally convinced to change foods, the problem cleared up. It may be fine for smaller, slower growing breeds. Also the chunks in the puppy chow need to be smaller for small breeds.
