Purina Beggin' Strips Dog Treats —

A BRIEF SCENE IN THE KITCHEN

     Dogs:  Woof!  Let's try these.
Mom:  Purina Beggin Strips are made with real bacon which means their ingredients include the not-nice preservatives sodium nitrite and BHA.
Dogs:  But Mom!  They have a good strong smell that brings us running.
Mom:  They smell sort of bacon-y but with strong chemical overtones.
Dogs:  Arf.  We could eat them until our tummies ache.
Mom:  They've got a lot of corn in their recipe.  That doesn't favor a digestive system as delicate as Shelby's.
Dolce:  We don't want Shel to be sick.  Arf-arf.  Give them all to me.
Mom:  Who's going to paw Lynne the thank-you note for giving these to you?
     Dogs:  Gotta go, Mom!

Dolce and Shelby would probably give this five stars.  My compromise, on behalf of their health, just barely makes two.  I can indulge the girls once, but I would never buy these.

I think we're still on the two or three bags we purchase before the review. These are our last resort for behavior modification, so we dole them out very carefully. To be honest, I didn't even check the nitrite thing on this product. Good to hear from you.

My last dog loved the heck out of these things! I fed a little piece of one to my new pup and he threw it up immediately. It's probably for the best - I didn't even think of the nitrites! Love the review-

I'm taking a little flak on the Beggin' Strips. Gotta tell you though, my kids had them as a before-bedtime treat tonight. Scary how much they like them (and what a softy I can be). If they make stay lively and make 14, I sure won't complain.

Hey, how about a photo of your Westie on your site? And, softy me, tonight's final treats for my pooches was, yes, more Beggin' Strips. It's hard to resist isn't it?

PLEAAAASSSSSEEEE and then my little westie does this funky dance twirling around in circles and jumping up and down. the performace deserves this treat now and then even if they aren't good for him.

But MOOOOOOOOOOM!! My best friend buys these for her dog and I love giving them to her. Dallas is 14 years old so I guess they aren't too harmful.

I love the conversation and I have some friends that send out thank-you notes from their dogs and cats whenever someone housesits while they are away.

Naturally, your girls are going to love something they shouldn't have. They got that from their Chicago cousin!
