Purex Natural Elements Laundry Detergent —

Due to my daughter having had a horrible allergic reaction, which we discovered was due to using Gain Laundry Detergent, we tried Purex Natural Elements Ultra Concentrate(actually have been using several scents, am currently using Linen and Lilies. With Gain and Tide she has broken out in hives all over her body and face and even her little eyes swelled shut.  This was my first experience with the Gain Concentrated, and determined that this was way to strong for my family.  So, I looked for a kinder, more gentle laundry detergent that would clean my mountains of laundry and be good for my family and the environment.

Purex Natural Elements Ultra Concentrate Features:

32 loads from a 50 fl oz bottle

priced at $3.29 a bottle

100% Natural Cleaning ingredients

Natural fragrance extracts

Concentrated less waste

Biodegradable formula

Hypoallergenic free of dyes

Contains no phosphates

There are three fragrances available for Purex Natural Elements Ultra Concentrate, including:  Linen and Lilies, Cherry Blossom and Vanilla, and Apple and Melon.

"Purex is formulated with 100 percent natural cleaning ingredients from renewable resources, including natural fragrance extracts and naturally softened water. It has a biodegradable, concentrated formula that requires 50 percent less liquid per dose and a recyclable bottle, and it is also hypoallergenic and dye-free. "

My Viewpoint:  Purex Natural Elements Ultra Concentrate are my favorite laundry detergent.  I would give it 5 stars, except for it's just not tough enough on stains sometimes, and even with the added use of Oxy or other stain lifters, it is hard or impossible to get many of the everyday food and play stains that my girls expose their clothes to many days. Some stains if pre treated come right out, but I rarely and able to get to a stain from school or park immediately. The aroma is pleasing and not to overwhelming. I use less detergent than many other brands.  It is all natural, good for the environment and excellent on every day stains and dirt.  It even costs less than most other brands!  It saves me green and it's made "green" and it is even in a green bottle, and neither one of my daughters have had an allergic reaction since. Sounds like a good choice. So sorry your daughter had the allergic reaction, but I'm glad you found a solution.

This should be a good change for towels and other linens :)

What a great price. Tide is great on stains but the prices make me cringe. I think I'll keep some Tide for stains but try this one for regular washing.

In response to GigiandAdonai's comment from Sep 19, 2008 at 10:00PM:

I purchase at WalMart and Krogers. I have seen it at Walgreen's but it is more expensive there. Hope you get to try it.

I also use the Purex laundry detergents due to cost and allergies. My mother tried using Tide with us children and several of us broke out. I didn't know these were out there. I am all about fresh smelling laundry so I think I will get me a bottle of the apple and melon. Do you know if this is being carried at Walmart?
