Pureology shampoo and conditioner for hydration and color treated hair Review Summary

Those whose hair needs TLC say Pureology shampoo and conditioner for hydration and color treated hair is well worth its somewhat steep price. Reviewers say the products hydrate and lengthen the time between hair coloring. The tingly, herbal scent isn't a favorite but the results, say our well coiffed reviewers, are well worth the earthy scent. Looking for a different type of shampoo? We have dozens of reviews for all hair types!

Excellent shampoo and conditioner. However, I will say, they don't smell that great. They can best be described in regards to fragrance as earthy and herbal. However, this is such a great product, I learned to love the smell. I have, in the past , not  loved the hair nature gave me, but  with pureology, I have healthy, managable, etc hair. I have course, thick, curly/wavy, Italian,  color treated hair, and with this product I need minimal product in addition to it. You only need a dime size to maybe a quarter size amount per… read full review »

When it comes to hair care products, I'm a junkie.  However, 2 years ago my hair stylist introduced me to Pureology and I refuse to use anything else.  I've been coloring my hair for nearly 10 years and it's necessary for me to utilize a shampoo and conditioner system that will hydrate and maintain my color; Pureology does just that.  — Pureology was once available only in salons, but was recently purchased by L'Oreal - so one can find it in various mass retail outlets (Target, CVS).  While it's a tinge pricey, ~$25 a bottle, it's absolutely worth it if you want to… read full review »

I tried this one weekend away at my brother and sister in laws Cape house. They always have the best of everything, and it's fun to try new things while I am there. Well, It was an unbelievable product! The bubbles were soft, and creamy, almost sensual. It immediatley made my hair feel soft and supple and cared for. Even after rinsing, and before using the conditioner, my hair was still soft, and clean feeling. This stuff is a keeper. Never without it… read full review »

Really does what it says!  Pureology has amazing products.  I have to get my gray roots colored every 5 weeks.  Not something that I'm proud to say... But my hair dresser told me about this product line and gave a sample.  My color lasts much longer. My naturally wavey hair feels so silky.  I have long hair so I go through the conditioner much quicker than the average person.  The only downside....they've got to make this line more affordable. —… read full review »

I moved from a small town to a big city and a college friend of mine was always on top of fashion and beauty..and we went to a fancy boutique where she got her shampoo and hair care products...I said..HOLY CRAP! When I saw the price for the not 'jumbo' sizes I usually see for that price...BUT I bought it thinking if my friend swears by it...I'll try it out, and if not, she said she'd buy mine from me if I didn't care for it...So, what did I have to lose? I used it and fell in love! You only need a little bit...and its the best shampoo experience when you have to do it yourself with the… read full review »

I am a Redken color specialist.  I try not to deviate from their products, but, Pureology is the highest quailty shampoo/conditioning system I have ever used.  My clients come back to recolor their hair, and it hasn't faded and is in great condition.  Yes, it is expensive, but, one bottle of shampoo lasts up to 7 months.  You don't need much at all.  You must get  your hair really wet, then spread the shampoo over your whole hand as you would a styling product, and you will get tremendous lather.  It keeps color in....the best I have ever seen and I have… read full review »

I have tried the whole line of Pureology products, and they are all wonderful!  The straightening products make my curly hair straight and shiny, the hydrating products condition like no other, and the volumizing products are a miracle for my fine, thin hair.  I like to mix the straightening shampoo with the hydrating conditioner, then apply the volumizer and the Root Lift before drying.  I end up with a new head of straight, shiny, full hair! I only wish the products were a little bit cheaper--I usually end up spending about $80 for the shampoo, conditioner, and volumizer. —… read full review »

I have tried many many shampoos without finding one I liked.  When I stopped using any products that were tested on animals, my quest because even harder.  The first time I purchsed pureology I thought it was a bit pricey, then I used it.  I couldn't believe what a small amount I needed.  For my incredibly thick shoulder length hair I only needed a drop the size of a dime each for shampoo and conditioner.  It smells great, it hydrates, my hair never looks frizzy when I use it and I never get a build up.  I can't recommend it… read full review »

I was skeptical that it would do everything my stylist claimed.... everything from keeping my color longer to drying quicker. However this is one product that really delivers! It even restored my daughter's hair that turned straw like over the summer. I didn't like sharing my special "splurge" but it really worked. I didn't care for the styling prducts (curl creme or gel) but the shampoo and conditioner really deliver! I'd recommend purchasing a pump for the conditioner if you purchase the large size... it's too thick otherwise.… read full review »

I highlight my hair and I find that the money I spend on Pureology products is worth it.  I love the Hydrate shampoo because it does not try out my hair.  It has excellent lather, so I feel I do not need to use too much of it.  I like the minty smell.  I also love the conditioner, just a small amount works well and it detangles well.  I try to buy on sale and online to save money, as I don't have a lot to spend on beauty products, but I do splure on this one as I think it is worth… read full review »

As a consumer I am very satisfied with the hydrating quality that my hair receives after every shampooing.  Coloring my hair and using heating elements cause much stress on the hair.  But I know I am fortifying and replenishing my hair with every shampoo.  — As a hairdresser I feel extremely confidant recommending anything pureology.  I do use other products depending on the clients hair, but pureology is usually my number one choice. —… read full review »

This stuff is worth every penny. It is thick, lathers great, and lasts a LONG time. The smell is a bit medicinal/herbal, but I LOVE the minty tingle. My salon uses this. When they shampoo, they do a scalp massage. The massage with the tingly mint is a near religious experience. —  Best of all? It actually does what it says it will - namely, protect your color. Good thing, because I can barely remember what my natural color is! —… read full review »

I tried Pureology after reading some reviews and I absolutely love it. My hair is medium length and prone to split ends. I color on a regular basis, once a month. I also use the flat iron regularly, at least 4 times a week. It helps maintain the color, the softness is good, it has a wonderful scent, and best of all, my hair is not dry looking. I have used many high quality shampoos but this is definitely my favorite. It is worth the price.… read full review »

I found out about this on a forum for free samples and I requested several of their products and they sent them out so fast and I got a courteous email.  — I love the smell of this and the way it makes my hair feel....sooooo soft.  — My only qualm is that it is a little expensive and now the only salon near me that carries it is closing down.  —… read full review »

The conditioner is amazing.  I have naturally curly hair and usually have to comb conditioners through with a pick in the shower but I can just rub this through with my hand and fingers and it detangles and gives it a super smooth soft feel.  I actually like the minty scent but have to be careful not to get it on my face or near my eyes as it does… read full review »
