PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener —

I was excited to find that I had been selected to receive a free box of PureVia All Natural Sweetener.  Why?  Free things are always good, and I love to try new products.  And, since my husband is a diabetic, I thought this would be great for him to try as well.

PureVia All Natural Sweetener

PureVia All Natural Sweetener is an all natural sweetener made from the extract of the stevia plant.  It's all natural and contains zero calories.  The product is packaged in single serve packets that are skinny and about 2.5 inches long and referred to on the box as "sticks".  Each stick is considered to be equal to two teaspoons of sugar.

The box I received in the mail contained 40 single serve sticks weighing a total of 2.8 ounces total.

My Thoughts on PureVia

While I don't normally use sugar in coffee, tea or any prepared foods, I did give this product a try.  I usually fix my coffee with just a half teaspoon of creamer and no sugar, but I decided that I would try this product with 1/2 stick of PureVia to evaluate it.

I found that using just that small of an amount made the coffee too sweet for me to drink.  While the sweetness came through, I also found the taste to be a bit on the bitter side.  I didn't find any aftertaste.

All in all, I would prefer my coffee the way I normally drink it with no sugar or sugar substitute.

My Husband's Thoughts on PureVia

My husband didn't care for this product at all.  He said it was nasty and the worst artificial sweetener he has ever tried.  I asked what exactly he didn't like about it and besides everything, he said the worst part was that it left a horrible aftertaste.

I found this odd because he was drinking it in coffee as I did that morning and I didn't find an aftertaste at all.

I guess this goes to show that people have different preferences and that the chemical makeup of everyone is different.

I will be putting this box in the pantry for when we run out of the artificial sweetener that my husband normally uses. However, that may convince him to go sugar-free 100% when he finds this box!

Recommendation

Although this product is not for me, if you normally use artificial sweeteners, I would say give this a try.  It is all natural and who knows--you may like it!

It's been interesting reading other ViewPoints on PureVia. Just doesn't seem like it can compete on the basis of my experience and the other reviews I've seen. Very good review!

It's weird how everyone has different tastes. I thought this was ehhh. Not my favorite but not awful. The rest of the family hates it but they hate anything but real sugar so they don't count. I wouldn't buy this unless Splenda turns out to be deadly (which is probably is already).

The commercials have intrigued me... thanks for the review.

I can tell this was one of the VP promotional items. I can't remember how many of these reviews I have read. Very thorough!
