When I was given a box of PureVia I was excited to get to using it due to the fact that it contains 0 calories, and that it promised to pack enough sugary power that 2 teaspoons of real sugar would.
I use about 6 packets of sugar in my 32 ounce cup of coffee every morning, so I figured substituting real sugar with a packet of PureVia would keep those extra ugly calories away. If I liked PureVia I would exchange my normal sugar intake with PureVia permanently.
The PureVia packets come in long packets which I think every single sugar, and sugar substitute company should be doing. The longer packets make it easier to pour the sugar into your cup without it spilling everywhere, and it also makes it easier to bring along with me when I'm on the go. So kudos to the genius who thought that one up.
Now you are probably wondering what this one taste like. If you are a fan of Splenda I will say that PureVia is not quite that good, but PureVia still wins due to the fact that it is much safer for you than Splenda is.
As far as comparing it to real sugar, hands down, real sugar wins as far as taste is concerned. PureVia tastes very weak compared to 2 teaspoons of sugar, and sugar of course is the safest alternative....only its packet with all of them calories!
PureVia has a strange aftertaste, that likely you will not enjoy at first, but if you remember the first time you tried Splenda, that sugar substitute also had a weird aftertaste that many have just gotten used to. PureVia is the same way. It's an acquired taste, that takes some getting used to.
After you acquire a taste for PureVia, likely you will like it as much as I do. It's safer, has 0 calories, and comes in a packet that is much easier to use than its competition.
