I am NOT a fan of artificial sweetener. I don't allow my kids to have it, not even in gum, and I encourage my husband to stay away too. However, this sweetener is different in that it is derived from a natural herb, so I don't consider it an artificial sweetener... more like a different sweetener.
As for my opinion, I did not cook with it, but I did use it in tea and coffee. It tasted very similar to Splenda, but it seemed I had to use a little more than I expected to get my drinks sweet enough. Something else I noticed was that the texture of PureVia is more coarse, whereas the texture of Splenda is more powdery.
Overall, I prefer sugar; however, I will keep this on the shelf for days when I go a little overboard with the sweet tea and coffee. I believe it's a reasonable alternative.
NOTE: the reviewer indicated that they received a sample of PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener
