This product was impressive to me and my boyfriend as well as my family. The book included really cool patterns and very easy to do. I enjoyed it very much and i highly recommend this product. The utensils that are included in the product package are very easy to handle, there small and kid friendly aswell, which is a big plus for me. Being a kid at heart i get a little carried away with my stuff so the product worked great for me. I like to do the stencil carvings instead of hand done, because I am not a very good artist.  The scraper works better than kitchen spoons.  The detailers can bend a little bit, but they have held out for me and my family for two years now, and they are still holding on.  So I definately feel I got my money… read full review »

I discovered the pumkin carving kits several years ago. I was very surprised at how easy it was to do. I carved two pumpkins. I started with a beginner pattern and saw it was so easy! I also did one that was called moderate. Everyone was amazed at how cute they turned out. I got many praises on my pumpkins. I can't wait for Halloween to roll around each year just so that I can carve pumpkins! I wish I had taken a picture of them so that I could post them! This year was my first Halloween with my new husband. This carving set comes with everthing that you will need to create the perfect jack o lantern. Make sure that you select a pumpkin that is fairly flat on one side to make it a little easier. You can also make the pattern bigger on the copier to make it fit larger pumkins. We always do a free style pumkin and one with a pattern. There are various patterns from cute to down right scary and they are all rated according to difficulty. The easy ones are great for kids under 12, but the harder ones take an adult. The first thing that grabs you about this kit is the cover and designs. There are simple to intriquette. The pages are similar to most other carving kits, but many of the patterns sem to be unique. All of the carving utensis that you need come with this kit, and even though the large scraper is the only one that comes with the kit and it really isn't large enough to make scraping out the extra large pumpins practicel, I use a large serving spoon for all my pumpkins. When I got this kit, I was amazed at all of the images you could choose from. the tools are very useful and come in handy while doing detailed work. i love carving during halloween, and i will certainly use this product in the future. I bought this set last year and we used it to carve 2 pumpkins it was so simple we were able to do both of them in only 2 hours and they turned out so great, every one who visited the house was impressed. I was so impressed I bought the new version this year and I would like to start using the sets to start carving out the reusable pumpkins. It's easy to use and fun, but I wouldn't let anyone under the age of 10 use it without supervision. It's still a bunch of knives! but they can scrape out the guts to occupy themselves. It's a good deal - there are packages for 5 times as much that don't have all the carving implements. And this is easy to find - it's at all the grocery & craft stores. We had a pumkin carving party around Halloween, and I wish we had this product. It makes pumpkin carving so much easier. If only there was a little cleaner-upper inside to clean up all the seeds! This product is wonderful to get the whole family together! There are easy to difficult pattern so everyone gets their own based on age, experience, and how much time they wish to spend carving.
