Pulltap's Double-Lever Corkscrew
The Pulltap's double-lever corkscrew is made in Barcelona, Spain, and features a patented design. The unique double-lever keeps the cork straight as it is removed from the bottle, meaning NO MORE BROKEN CORKS!
With it's double-lever, the Pulltap's doesn't require "brute strength" to remove a cork, and is favored among wine stewards, sommeliers, waiters, and bartenders. You can find the Pulltap's being used in some of the finest restaurants in the world.
This is THE EASIEST sommelier style corkscrew to use in the world! With about 10,000 corkscrews in my stock, this is still the corkscrew I use to open wine on all but the most special of occasions. Simply insert the worm completely into the cork, rest the first (top) lever on the top of the wine bottle and lift the handle (the unique design affords tremendous leverage), when the cork has moved about halfway out of the bottle, lower the handle and place the second (lower) lever on the top of the wine bottle, lift the handle again and remove the cork.
Available in several different styles, colors and finishes, the Pulltap's corkscrew is durable, and at around $8-$10 for the basic version, is a great deal. The Pulltap's corkscrew is also available in premium models (gold, bronze, chrome, aluminum, or graphite finishes), and these can be found priced from around $25 - $40, depending upon the particular style you choose.
There are several "knockoffs" (mostly made in China) available on the market these days, however, it has been my experience that these do not last. Ordinarily the trouble comes with the worm, or spiral, bending during use, and I have seen at least two that the handle snapped. My advice would be to make sure it is an authentic Pulltap's corkscrew before you buy - the Pulltap's logo will be stamped on the base (flat side) of the lever.
The Pulltap's corkscrew makes a wonderful gift - just couple it with a nice bottle of wine and a wine bag, and you've got an instant housewarming gift, Christmas gift, or birthday gift for anyone who enjoys wine.
