If you want pristine beaches, touristy activities, English speaking everyone, everywhere, then this is not the place for you.
If you want to experience the Mexican culture rather than just be a tourist, and you don't mind a less clean beach with harsher waves... If you're looking for great local cuisine, some "real" Mexican interactions... then this is a great place for you!

read full review »Puerto Vallarta has quickly become a favorite destination for myself and my family! We have been 3 times in the last 3 years and plan to return again this March! The quaint cobblestone streets and sidewalk restaurants are reminiscent of Europe and completely romantic! A visit to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's previous getaway home is quite romantic as you rewind through time. read full review »My husband and I went to a destination wedding here and we had the best time. Downtown Puerto Vallarta has a European vibe with quaint cobblestone streets and old stone buildings. There are some terrific markets with gorgeous crafts and wonderful food and the restaurants were very impressive. We ate in a restaurant by a river with the best, most attentive service and the freshest fish I have ever eaten. Outside the city there are some wonderful activities and we enjoyed snorkelling and a fun zip-line tour that I recommend to everyone. It was nerve-wracking the first time you did it, but...
