I used to be super crafty and almost always took advantage of the 40% coupon for Michael's craft stores that came in my Sunday paper.  But since I've become addicted to the internet and yoga I just don't do crafty things as often. Still, I find it hard to pass up that coupon and almost always cut it out even if I throw it out the next week.

I was telling my mom about the fact that I never use the coupon when she suggested that I use the next one to pick up some scissors to keep around the house.  I have one pair of scissors that is always getting lost and I can never find them when I need them so buying extra pairs to keep on hand seemed like a great so I bought some with my next coupon.

I ended up getting a set of three Precision Scissors made by Provo Craft and I'm really happy with them.  The set includes a large, medium, and small scissors with lavender colored handles that can be used by right or left handed people.  The insides of the handles where I stick my thumb and finger are padded with a thin layer of squishy black rubber which makes cutting more comfortable.

The scissors are not super sharp like Fiskars where one can easily cut a finger if not being really careful (been there, done that) but are sharp enough to get the job done.  They are not safety scissors though and should not be used by small kids or klutzy people as the ends are super pointy.  The small scissors is especially pointy and is great for precision cutting or cutting very small things like pictures or loose threads.

The really nice thing about this set is that it comes in a small case that is zippered on three sides.  The inside has strong foam forms with cutouts to stick the scissors in so everything is in its place and not moving around.  The case is about the size of a checkbook cover but twice as thick.

This set of scissors is not super high quality but gets the job done.  The case is handy for storage and toting the scissors around with a sewing kit, craft project, or for scrapbooking.  I have bought a few sets to keep around the house and use them all the time.

Thanks for this review. I always have cheap dollar store scissors laying around but I need to get myself a good pair. These sound great.

I keep several strategically placed around the house. Of course, my fabric scissors are labeled with a warning - not for use on paper. So far, so good...

I buy real ugly ones and they don't seem to go anywhere. Yes, they look freaky so everyone hates them...works for me. Then again I am the only one that can figure them out :)

I like to keep plenty of scissors around in case I feel like running......Seriously, though no matter how many scissors I have, some teenager runs off with them...you'd think they are made of gold!

In my house, having more scissors just means we lose even more of 'em. We still won't find any around when we really need 'em...
