Propet - Island Walker Sandals —
For over a year now, I haven't been able to wear a decent pair of of shoes on my feet. When I did manage to get somthing on, they wouldn't stay on. I have alymphedema in both my legs which requires me to wear compression garments on my legs to control the swelling and/or reduce the amount of swelling in my legs. To compensate for this, I tried wearing flip-flops (my mom's old pair) or socks. The flip flops hurt my toes, and would fall off as soon as I started getting in the car, then the socks did very little to protect my feet from small rocks or debri on the ground. I got a pair of orthopedic shoes from the therapist who treated me in the hospital earlier this year, he have me shoes that looked like they would work. They had velcro on the top, but the back was to high and it would slip of. So long story short, I went without shoes. I happened to remember a pair of shoes that I wore a few years back that I absolutely loved because they could be washed and worn just like canves shoes. I didn't realize they made so many varieties/styles of shoes.
The pair that I bought are extra wide (EE), and have two think bands of velcro on the top to hold it in place and a nice snug sling on the back with a buckle. These shoes come with a 1000 mile walk garantee. The thing that made me turn to these shoes again was the fact that they last so long. They provide good posture for my back and allow my hips and knees to align better when I can walk which isn't often. Now when I go out I can put on a pair of shoes. My mom has figured out how to do that so we don't have to mess with the buckle. She just opens the velcro, helps me slide my foot in, then attaches the velcro straps. I'm good to go. I still have to break them in like with any pair of any new shoes. But I have room now to wear them with socks for the cold season so my toes won't get cold now. I'm so glad that I found these shoes. I couldn't beat the price either. $50 pair of shoes for $28. They were on clearance, but hey, what a bargin.
