A little shot to help you lower your cholesterol

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This was a new campaign for me and being a BzzAgent and I found this one to be a tough one to "Bzz".

They taste great (I tried the strawberry). I thought they would be a thicker drink, but they are like ohhhh, a melted shake consistancy so that is much better then what I thought having yogurt in it.

What Promise Activ SuperShots can do for you if you have cholesterol that you need to lower your cholesterol.  Promise Activ SuperShots has natural plant sterols. Plant sterols are clinically proven to actively remove cholesterol from your body  as a part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.

Many of the people that I did "Bzz".  were iffy on...

You should warn consumers about the possible side effects.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I was so happy to hear about this amazing product that can lower HDL cholesterol levels.  I have high cholesterol, and cannot take any statins, because I get bad side effects.  Well, after reading about this amazing product, I wasted no time in starting it.  After about a week, I started with horrible gas, cramps, and loose stools.  I didn't put two and two together for a couple of days after that.  Well, it has been a few weeks since taking the product, and I have since been to the doctor, and still suffer the effects from the plant sterols.  I am not saying that everyone will react so harshly, but there should be a  warning that it could happen....

Product no longer available

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Recently, I started using the product for cholesterol, but then could not find it in stores. Nothing in the news as yet.

I tracked down the contact phone number. The one directly linked to the "shots" disconnects so I used one for the margarine. It is officially discontinued as of Aug.28,2009. The woman was polite but evasive about why these two products are discontinued.I have the feeling there may be more about this in the news...I also saw a website by a lawyer for the shots claims of lowering high blood pressure not being true.Too bad for those of us who needed it, benefited from it, and used it responsibly.

Allergic Reaction

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I heard great review on the Promise Active Super Shots, so I said OK I'll give it a try.  I bought the strawberry flavor and was hesitant to drink it because I thought it might be like the 'liquid yogurt' that's out now, which I don't like.  The drink was a different consistency than the 'liquid yogurt' and was actually good.  Later that day I had an allergic reaction to the product.  It took me a couple of days to discover it, but now I am on a six day course of steroids to relieve the symptoms I had from this product.  If it works for you great - but if you suffer allergic reactions beware!

Taste good

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The SuperShots come in three delicious flavors, strawberry, raspberry and peach. They come in a convenient four pack for about $3.99. You can get them at Walmart, Kroger's, or about any other grocery store. I have taken the strawberry flavor and added frozen strawberries and ice to a bottle of it to make a smoothie. Yummy! I am going to try it with peach next. Although peach is not one of my favorite, I thought if I added the peaches to it and made a smoothie out of it, it would be easier to drink. It's recommended that you drink them at least twice a day after eating. I have read a lot of reviews and most doctors say you still should exercise and watch what you eat to help lower you cholesterol. Tastes great, waiting to see if they work

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I am a Bzzagent and tried these as part of a campaign. I really liked the taste, but I thought the price was ridiculously high. recently I had a cholesterol test and found out that my cholesterol was over 300. I really don't like the idea of going on medicine, so while I wait to get into the doctor I have decided to give these Supershots a try. The drinks contain plant sterols which have been proven to reduce LDL cholesterol. I have just purchased a third box of the Supershots and plan on drinking one a day until my doctor's appointment to see if my levels will really go down. I have recommended them to several people.

Promise Super Shots, a great way to start your day!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Promise Activ SuperShots are a super way to start your day!  It's my morning juice.  Not only do they taste great they help lower your blood pressure.  I must admit, I got started with these as a Bzz agent but I love them so much I don't want to quit.  And...If they can lower my HBP, all the better.  Time will tell if that works.

Promise SuperShots didn't get the highest rating because the top is so darn hard to get off.  I don't know what they could have done different but I have to believe they could have  something besides the foil tops.  The opening is small and that makes it very hard to get the top off.

I've tried two out of the three flavors and they are delicious.  I don't like bananas so I won't be trying the strawberry banana but I have to believe it's as good as the peach and the mixed berry.  Hope they come out with more flavors!!

Drop 60 points on Super Shots, up 50 off them...I want my Shots!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My Cholesterol total was 245. I had high bad and low good. My dad had heart problems so I was given a scrip for Zocor, never got a chance to try to change my diet. Rebel that I am I changed my diet and did not fill the scrip. Next labs on taking Supershots along with an extremely low fat diet, cholesterol free no animal products, essentially vegan diet, exercise and red wine...was perfect, total below 200, good going up, bad acceptible. Told to continue my dose- I said ok I will continue what I'm doing. Supershots were pulled from the market, continuing just the diet, without Supershots, still exercising and red wine same my total is 235, and  good creeping down, bads creeping up. I want my Supershots back!!!!!!

Super Shots work!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Why is the Super Shots line of products no longer available in the USA?

  •  Answer:  Unkown

They worked wonderfully at reducing cholesterol and blood pressure levels. The same line of products under a different name (Flora in the UK and Becel in Canada and other countries) is still available in the UK and has been since 2004. The products should be available to US Consumers. The US drug companies may have protested because we were no longer filling prescriptions.

It is not logical to remove a product from one market  and continue selling in another. Giving the 'it didn't sell' line obviously doesn't hold true based on the comments and complaints from around the ...

Please do not discontinue them - they work!!!!!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My cholesterol (222) dropped 20 points in one week, after drinking 2 a day and eating more salads, and avoiding cheese. My doctor was very pleased with the lab results and when I told him what I was doing, he said to keep it up because it's definitely working!  With all the excellent reviews for this product, I really find it hard to believe they are discontinuing it due to "poor sales."  What a crock!  It's more like the large pharmaceutical companies are harrassing them - or worse, I hope they haven't offered them some huge settlement to drop the product.  But their labeling is clear (in fact I'm drinking one right now)  and here's what's on it...."with natural plant sterols clinically proven to help reduce cholesterol as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol."  So they need to just get over themselves and let other companies reap the benefits if they've come up with a product that works.

Promise active Supershots are awesome!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I started using Promise active Supershots once daily after my doctor put me on Crestor.  I got terrible headaches from Crestor so I discontinued using it after several days and my headaches immeadiately went away.  However, my total cholesterol was 293, my LDL 204.  I heard about the postive effects of plant sterols, but who wants to each three pounds of brocolli a day.  Three months after using Supershots, my total cholesterol fell to 224, my LDL down to 138.  After another three months, I was down to 201, with my LDL down to 125.  I have been watching my diet and trying to keep up with exercise, but I certainly believe the Supershots have been the key.  Mr. Doctor could not beleive my progress.

P.S. I think that Crestor is dangerous stuff and should be banned by the FDA, and for those of you who a concerned about the price of Supershots, compare it to the $3 per day cost for Crestor.

Supershots was recommended by my cardiologist, now I can't get it

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My cardiologist recommended SuperShots (even gave me some coupons) for controlling cholesterol and I was happy to start using it.  I really believe in using diet mods before medication.  I've been successful at this with controlling my INR and warfarin dosage.  I was really starting to see good benefits from SuperShots for cholesterol.  I'm very disappointed that they've taken this option away from me. And as far as the cost goes?  We're talking slightly less than a dollar a day to improve your heart health without drugs.   At some point, my prescription needs are reduced and I'm at breakeven.  Please voice your support to the manufacturer so that we have a chance at getting this back.
