Promise Activ Super Shots —

Again as a BZZAgent I got the chance to try out a much advertised cure for high cholesterol.  A 4 pack of 2 oz bottles of yogurt & fruit teamed with plant sterols that are a great cure for high cholesterol.  Problem is the 4 pack at Giant Eagle is $3.79 & at Wal-Mart IS $3.19 so for over $.70 - $.90 a bottle that is 2 days worth.  So for 2 weeks I spent $28 to see if it really did anything.  SO for 2 weeks I drank 2 bottles a day (12 hours apart).  Had bloodwork done for my monthly test at Kaiser & was told I was DOWN 8 POINTS!

Now my doctor has me on Centrum Cardio for 2 weeks, taking 2 pills a day for 2 weeks & again another blood test.  So check for this result in the review I will write.

My honest opinion is that it is too expensive when Centrum Cardio is $.10 a pill if you buy it a BJs (180 pills for $18.00).  My prescription is cheaper also.

Our local supermarkets have discontinued the Promise shots. So where can I go and buy some. What stores carry your product?

I had one supershot a day for 60 days along with a healthy diet and dropped my Choletrol 37 points. I want my Supershots back.
The seventy nine cents I paid at Walmart was a lot cheaper than the $60 a month for Lipitor and much better for me. Betty Hamilton

If you have any sundry stores or UGO type stores look there since they were discontinued my UGO store ( United Grocery Outlet) had them for $1.00 a carton the other stores send them there to get them off the shelf.

really upset that they discontinued super shots. If everyone who reads this calls Promise at 800-375-0291 and speaks to a rep and lets them know how upset we all are for them removing them from the market they will bring them back Please call

I live in the Albany, NY region. Can you tell me what retail store I could find supershots in? Thank You...

I have seen so many posts all over the internet about the promise supershots. I have a hard time believing that they have discontinued it due to low customer volume and shelf life which is what I was told when I called. This product really helped me and it seems it helped a lot of other people. It lowered my cholesterol by 50 points with no medication. It seems like there is something else going on here.

I appreciate the phone number and intend to call. Do you think the pharmaceutical companies could "buy out " Unilever to STOP making it because it was so successful and DOES help you get off the meds?! Over six months of use, between two blood tests, my cholesterol dropped 50 points. It is surely one of the best discoveries! Let's band together to get it back!

Promise definitely works to lower cholesterol. LDL from 113 to 79 in two weeks faithful use, maintained for 1.5 years now. Why is this product taken off the market?

You can call the Rep at 800-375-0291..the rep said if they get enough calls, they might put it back on the market.. Please call! My dad relies on these for his health!

Contacted Promise through using the 800#. Product has been discontinued due to low customer volume.

This is really distressing news about Promise! My husband lowered his cholesterol with this drink and didn't have to take medication. What can we do to make some waves with Unilever??

chuckandmar wrote on Aug 19, 2009 at 12:16PM

My husband is on cholesterol / triglyceride medication plus being a diabetic. Until he added Promise to his diet, he could not get his cholesterol and especiallly his triglycerides under control. That was with one bottle/day. Now, we can't find it in the stores. We live in a small town but we do have a Walmart, Kroger and Jay-C because it is a central shopping area for farmers. Any suggestions?

Has the Promise Activ Supershots for blood pressure been discontinued - the stores in my area no longer sell this product.

Tried contacting through the Unilever web site - but it's not working.

Has anyone heard anything about this?

Thanks.

I agree 100% and boy do I hate Supershots now that I tried them for 2 months & really lost nothing.

dinard wrote on Jul 16, 2009 at 9:31PM

If you are liking Supershots, you might be interest in the Kardea bars.I tried one and was completely amazed. Then I tried the other flavors and was totally blown away. Really. The founder went on to tell me that his mission was to create nutrition bars with unique and scrumptious flavor profiles, based primarily on whole foods and natural ingredients, that people managing their cholesterol could enjoy….. These bars are a tasty and nutritious … If you're hankering for an in-between-meal snack, this bar is reasonable for its nutrition profile (for most people, 100-200 calories is ideal between meals, and it's got a healthy dose of fiber and protein) and exceptionally yummy flavor

I drank 1 drink a day and I take red yeast rice and for one month and my HDL went from 69 to 89 which was high to begin with and my LDL was high at 140 and down now l30. Yes that only dropped a small amount but being that the HDL is so high my doctor stated that I don't need any medication for the cholesterol and to stay on the promise shots and the red yeast rice. I would rather do that then the meds. There are always coupons in the newspaper or on line for at least $1 off a carton so it brings the cost down. Still better than lipitor or other drugs with those awful side effects.

I took Centrum Cardio and it is cheaper, however, my joints ached and my chest felt tight. I would rather take these!

Bloodwork on Saturday at 6AM

janice0927 wrote on Feb 14, 2008 at 11:08AM

I just started taking Promise Activ Shots to lower my high LDL. Please write how your bloodwork results were after taking Centrum Cardio. It would be easier and cheaper than the Activ shots. Thanks.
