Built a home theatre on a shoestring budget. — after reviewing many projectors online and had seen these at work and knowing they had been dependable for the workplace, and also seeing them in an ad for $599 at circuit city, I Opted to try one out. — I have been using the Infocus IN24 for over a year now and have only found 1 major problem with using it for a home theatre.  Over Heating of the bulb.  The projector has built in protection that turns off the bulb and flashes the bulb light indicator (which some may think the bulb went out and will cost you a few… read full review »

I have been following digital projectors for more than a decade. From office use projectors to home cinema projectors. That was until recently when a crop of projectors started offering lower prices, better performance and HD resolution. — — The Panasonic PT-AX100U is the third interation of the most popular HD home theater projector line ever produced. Panasonic really hit its stride with… read full review »

Bottom-Line: Even thought the price point was steep, and we have that ongoing problem with the lamp, I believe the overall functionality of the unit was well worth the cost. Unfortunately, part of my job has been to provide occasional multimedia support in the guise of a laptop (connected to the network (Internet access) of course), mated with a multimedia LCD projector.  I say unfortunately because invariably something goes wrong with the projector, the presentation of the laptop, or a combination thereof necessitating the need for me to (for lack of a better descriptor) baby sit the… read full review »

My wife may have underestemated me when saying " The basement is yours" .     The viewsonic projector has turned our basement into a home theater.    We have a glass wall (1 side is painted white)  and the projector mounted on the cieling.     The picture is about 90" diagonally and as good as a theater.  The projector is about 8 feet from the wall. — We have directv hooked up with the regular non HD antenna.  The quality of picture is fantanstic.   The projector (PJ558D)  has… read full review »
