One of my faves, it has a little bit of everything you could want in reality TV.

Creativity, drama and drama queens, lots of attitude, real feelings and a lot more.

The shows hosts Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum are perfect at what they do. Gunn in his inimitable way is somewhat fatherly, somewhat best friendy and all business at the same time. Klum is adorable with her German accent and her Auf Wiedersehens and double cheek kisses when a designer is voted off the show.

I absolutely love when Gunn does his 'designers gather round' bit, and then takes them shopping for fabrics at MOOD with a watchful eye and the posture of a strong unbending pine tree. You honestly feel like he is taking it all very seriously (as he should) and keeps the fluttering and nervous designers on their toes time limits like a school teacher lining them up for an assembly, it's great to watch.

The anchors of fashion director for Elle maggie Nina Garcia and designer Michael Kors add the right touch of fashion criticism, sometimes they can really tear up a designers creation but do it in a way that makes sense as to why they didn't like it and why it wouldn't be marketable.

Though not every designer 'follows the rules' or truly listens, cares or understands what the fashion challenges are all about, they do create some interesting pieces and put all their heart and soul into doing it.  Many take the criticism with a grain of salt and as a learning experience and others simply won't hear of it, as if they are the end all be all of fashion designerdom, fabulous TV fodder for sure. The group of contestants is a great mix of quirky, too serious, a little bit nervous and very talented people who ARE the show in a nutshell.

Each designer is designated a real live tall lanky model who show off the clothing creations on the 'runway' in front of the judges; as they sashay and strut their stuff like only professional models can do. This is when you really get to see what the designers are all about, some designs are walking distasters and some are quite exquisite. The models also get to hear  Auf Wiedersehen as they are also eliminated as the designer count gets smaller.

As the designers get voted off and the group gets smaller the attitudes get bigger, the emotions get deeper and the clothing creations and designs get better as they vie for top spot and a chance to win it all; name, fame, noteriety, cash and a start to their very own business and collections. You'll see these designers litterally sweat as they strive onto the top spotlighht of Fashion Week at Bryant park NY.  This season the show is set in Los Angeles and should have a fun new twist, can't wait to watch it all. So far so good but we'll see.
