Project Runway is a Bravo Channel original reality show where fashion designers compete for a fashion week spot, a monetary reward and the title of top designer. The host, Hiedi Klum is also a producer of the show. Tim Gunn is the mentor and guide for the contestants, while Nina Garcia and Michael Korrs join Hiedi in judging the designs. The contestants are given a multitude of challenges, from creating a look based on their individual style to making a couture dress out of car parts, that must be executed in the time alloted, often 24 to 48 hours. Some challenges are in groups while others are individual designs. The challenges are intended to help the contestants grow, gain speed and think outside of the box in hopes to find the "diamond in the rough" of fashion gurus! See your local listings for Project Runway's station and time.

As an artist, I appreciate creativity, especially in a skill that I am unfamiliar with, new to, or need to work on. Project Runway maybe a reality show, but it's a competition that shares my love of art. Fashion design is an art form and this show shares the beauty of fabrics that can be manipulated by the creative eye to reveal a stunning look! I love watching the designers in the work room put their creation together. Watching the different phases of construction come together into innovative designs is a fascinating process.

Yes, there's drama in and out of the work room, with competitors getting a bit vicious at times. There's laughter and tears, many of which are the cracks of frustrations at their creative blocks at "crunch time." Most of the drama takes place in team challenges, understandable being that they're all trying to win.

I can look passed the harmless competitive nature of the beast(s) when I'm watching their beautiful work coming down the runway. Each new season, I am enthused at the amount of talent that is out there!

A great feature of Bravo is that they'll rebroadcast the show at various times in the week, so if you miss the traditional time that Project Runway is on, you can easily catch up!

Warning: Project Runway may be addictive!

This is my favorite show. I like that they repeat the shows because I am forever missing them. I studied fashion designing for one semester when I lived in Savannah, GA @ Savannah College of Arts & Design. I love sketching my own fashion clothes. Great review ;-)
