Proform Is the brand that I am familiar with. I had this particular treadmill until I had to down size to a smaller home. I had no problem reselling it.
My daughter likes running on the treadmill and the tread was smooth without sliding to the side while she ran, especially while doing incline work. I enjoyed walking on it and the various exercise modes it featured like the cardio check on the hand grips.
Overall I would say it's pretty effective for a home workout plan.....IF you have the focus to be consistent about doing it. I find that I'm more effective in a group setting or working out with an exercise tape. If this is a problem for you as well and you still want to use a treadmill at home perhaps you can find a video program geared to this form of exercise .
