I purchased a Proforma XP 550e two years ago and I have to say I don't regret my decision. At first I was a little anxious. There were so many treadmills on the market that I had no clue where to start. So I started asking family and friends for advice. This led me to Sears where my aunt had purchased a treadmill. She swore this was the best treadmill for the price and performance. So of course I had to listen to her. I really did not want to start a family drama by not heeding the advice of my elders.
So anyway, I purchased the Proforma ( buy the extended warranty) and scheduled a time for delivery. I paid the extra cost to have someone drop it off and assemble. If you don't have the time or patience, eat the cost and have them do the assembly for you. It will save you a lot of aggravation. Once it was up and working, I have been walking and running ever since. You can choose to just walk, add inclines or try one of the programs included. It is very sturdy and durable. Nothing is loose or falling apart after two years of use. The sales rep just warned if I ran or walked daily eventually the tread would have to be reset or replaced. This is why you would want the extended warranty. I used it so much I needed to recalibrate the tread instead of purchasing a new one. I called the customer service number provided and they were extremely helpful. They can walk you through it or send someone out to help.
Overall, I am very happy with my treadmill. It folds up after use so it does not take up a lot of space. This treadmill is not compact or light. It is a very durable and heavy piece of gym equipment. If you are looking for something lightweight and compact, this is NOT the treadmill for you. I parked it right in front of my TV and it has been there ever since. It is not an easy piece of equipment to move. It does have wheels and can roll, but it is still heavy.
So every night my treadmill and I watch the latest news and TV shows without fail. I am no longer a couch potato thanks to the treadmill.
