Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver is a charming braided plot with three different strands, all woven into one beautiful novel. A great read out loud, which will help you to savor the story.

I really don't want to reveal the plots, but the book covers romance, the enviroment and family relationships.  You will be moved by this book.

Barbara Kingsolver is one of my favorite authors.  This book is my new favorite.  In it, she traces the lives of four separate, yet interrelated characters over the length of one ordinary summer.  Great characterizations, thoughtfully written, and excellent description of the Appalachian mountains and the people who live (and love) there.
