Proctor & Gamble Tide Total Care Review Summary

Consumers seem to have mixed reviews when it comes to Proctor & Gamble Tide Total Care detergent. Some have used Tide products all their life, so it's no surprise that they like this product just as much as the others. "Perhaps Tide Total Care is the greatest thing to happen to laundry since the inention of the Downy Ball." The product claims it will do "7 things to keep your clothing newer," including clean thoroughly, protect color, preserve shape, maintain finish, enhance softness, prevent pills, and fight stains. Some reviewers didn't notice the difference between this Tide and their regular Tide product, and decided to "save the extra couple of dollars" and just stick with what has always been reliable to them. Another reviewer however noticed a shirt that normally pills no longer doing so "after using Tide Total." Yet another reviewer washed a sheet set successfully before, but using this detergent, the sheets "came out with orange blothes all over." While it comes in two great fragrances, reviewers couldn't help but notice the absence of a fragrance-free version.

I picked up the new Tide Total Care detergent last week.  This was not a hard choice for me as I have been a loyal fan of Tide for many years.  Having tried the cheaper detergents, I always come back.  Perhaps, my Mother knew best after all!

I noticed the new orange detergent packaging right away. ...

This product was on an end cap at Target reserved for clearance items.  And now I know why...

After being successfully marketed to and being presented with an opportunity to try the pricier product out at a clerance price I decided to give Tide Total Care a try.  I bought the HE renewing rain scent detergent...

Bought Tide Total Care specifically because it was advertised as good for your clothes/fabrics and it is NOT! I had an expensive set of sheets that had been previously washed with regular Tide and they were fine.  When I washed them with Tide Total Care they came out with orange blotches all over!  Funny... the color of Tide Total Care is ORANGE!  I contacted Proctor & Gamble and they could have cared less ... BEWARE!

Tide Total Care:

I used this one time because I had a free sample. I was very happy with the scent. I could not stop commenting how good I thought my clothes smelled every time I put something on that came out of the free sample load. I normally purchase detergent that does not carry a strong scent but I was happy with this.

I would purchase it but I think it is too expensive*. It did not do anything exceptional, mind you I just tried one load ,but it is not as if the clothes transferred themselves to the drying rack, then waddled their way over to the dryer to be fluffed, and then folded themselves...

...Why write a review when the jury is still out?  Good question, but I doubt I will have another opportunity, so here it goes.  I have a particular shirt that always pills after washing...now after using Tide Total, it doesn't.  That's a fact and it surely impressed me.  The only reason I didn't give it the 5th star is because I have had some pieces that still had stains after washing (I have a kid who likes spaghetti), so I haven't seen a miracle improvement in that department.  Perhaps Tide Total Care is the greatest thing to happen to laundry since the invention of the Downy Ball or maybe... read full review »

I bought a big bottle of Tide Total Care detergent right after I bought myself some new clothes. I wanted my clothes to look newer longer, as this product claims it will do. Save the extra dollar or 2 and just buy the regular Tide. I noticed no difference in fading, or pilling throughout the course of the bottle (at least a couple month's worth of use). It's just as good as the regular Tide in my opinion. I love Tide, and would use no other-- but I'll save the extra couple of dollars from the Total Care for something else.

I used a sample I on a load of clothing and loved the smell so I purchased a bottle to use on my clothes. I have 5 children so I was going to use this bottle only on mine as a little treat for me. I first did a load of whites, and a light color tank with spandex in it came out all discolored and with these odd stains on it. The color was just off, not the creme color it was originally. It was a dingy color with dark spots that you could see if you held it up to the light. I thought maybe I needed to do a longer rinse cycle, so I tried rewashing it again, MISTAKE!!!! It is now a darker, dingy color... read full review »

My clothing fades in the wash, so I was read to try Tide Total Care. Clothes look great and the claim may be true, but the cool cotton scent is just awful--I keep catching whiffs of it on my clothes and think I've brushed up against a urinal deodorizer. I'm going to pitch the detergent, re-launder my clothes, and stick with unscented. If I want perfume, I wear Chanel!

Tide Total Care renewing rain smells terrible.  I washed sheets in it ( plus other clothes) and the  smell kept waking me up all night.  I had to re-wash all my clothes. Even a good airing out ( one week) didn't dissipate the smell.  Don't buy this detergent. The store had only this scent--no perfume free variety.

I own and live in a condo. I do not have a washer or dryer but my building has 2 washers and 2 dryers and I just use them and pay to do my laundry. (I eventually will have a washer and dryer installed in my home for some reasons) I sometimes have issues with the washers and a clothing item or 2 being ruined. Using a washer and dryer that others use is a tricky thing. Everyone uses different detergents and some use bleach. I do not and will never use bleach or keep it in my house. My whites are still white or were but my color cloths sometimes come o ut with color missing or I sometimes have had...

I received a sample of Tide Total Care from one of my favorite stores and LOVED what it did for the load of laundry I used it on. I was still hesitant as to whether or not I wanted to commit to making a change (I'm VERY particular about my detergents). After reading this website, I was pretty scared about what other people had to say about their Tide Total Care experiences (Orange clothes, permanent stains, etc.). I figured I just had to try out the Total Care for myself ... and I'm SO happy that I did.

My clothes smell amazing, look great, and I hardly have to pretreat any stains. I'm 100%...

I tried Tide Total Care when it was a brand new product and have used nothing else ever since.

I buy my daughter's clothing from Gymboree. Their clothing is known to not keep its color and fade tremendously. With that in mind, I decided to see if there was anything that would stop this. I received a coupon for Tide Total Care detergent and it claimed to do all of the things I need a detergent to do. So I tried it.

I have had nothing but fantastic results with this detergent. My colors are brighter, my clothes are fresher, and the wear and tear is much less. I have read some people's remarks on...

I thought I would give this detergent a try because I had a wad of coupons enough to try a few bottles for free... I have not noticed any difference in any of my clothes from the regular Tide detergent and on top of that each bottle has a significant amount of loads less! (20 loads Tide Total, 32 loads Regular kind). There is also a big price difference so I definitely don't think that this is worth the money! It also has a strange scent to it - not the regular yummy smell that Tide detergents have. It almost smells chemical! I am still unsure of what Tide Total promises to do - but I believe that...

i use tide total control on all my clothes and i think it does a great job.i tried using other kinds of detergents and alot of them break me out ,but i have never broke out from any type of tide product yet.as far as the scent i dont really worry about the smell as long as my clothing are clean, but the scented kind i have bought made my clothing smell good and with tide they areclean. i have even had some set in stains come out with the use of tide.i even used it from the start when my baby was born and never had a problem with him that i would have had to use another brand.as far as the price...

I love the new Tide Total care. I used it everytime I wash. It does a wonderful job at removing stains in my toddler clothes. He wipes everything in his clothes as if it was a napkin.  Tide Total Care removes all the stains with no effort. I love this product.
