Looks cheap but it's durable

4

I have had this toaster for almost seven years and it's still operating properly. There are drawbacks, like the short cord and basic looks, but it's good for what it is. The only thing I worry a little bit about is that many times there's a bright green flash or spark when the toast is done. I hope I don't get electrocuted. Ease of Cleaning It's easy to clean the tray that catches the crumbs but I don't know how to clean the inside.

Regular Humble Toaster

4

This toaster has worked out well for our household. We don't make toast all the time so we don't need any fancy toaster. It has the settings control for how dark you want your toast to me and we just leave it on the same setting all of the time and it comes out toasted just the right amount each time. It also works well with other foods besides bread, like toaster pastries, and bagels. It is a wonderful basic toaster. Toasting Evenness When left on the same setting the toast comes out the same each time. Safety We've never had a safety issue with the toaster. Ease of Cleaning The sides are easy to wipe off. Durability It has stood up well to regular household use. Design It's a nice basic toaster.

Basic two slice toaster does the job well

4

When my old toaster died, I went looking for a new one to replace it. Since I wanted a toaster that simply made toast, I wasn't interested in high priced models that promised to cook everything from bread to pizza. This basic toaster not only does the job, it does it quite nicely without draining my wallet. Toasting Evenness The bread is toasted evenly on both sides- one side is just as dark as the other. Safety A short cord means it stays on the back of the counter, near the outlet and not at the edge where little hands could reach it and get burnt. Ease of Cleaning A locking crumb tray catches any bits of toast and easily opens for cleaning. Plus the toaster is wide enough to let crumbs fall, not stick on the wires. Durability Having owned this toaster for around 3 months hardly makes me able to judge its durability, however, I do expect it to last. Design It has a nice wide slot to allow toasting of bagels, however, toaster pastries such as pop tarts do not fall and get stuck. Its both wide enough and thin enough at the same time.

I picked this toaster from a rewards program, this was the best they product they offered, so I chose it then quit the site. I have heard of the proctor silex brand before but was unfamiliar with it. My experience with this toaster has given the brand a pretty bad reputation in my eyes. I dont think i would ever buy this brand. The toaster looks really cheap. Its so small. I could barely fit my bagel inside. It toasts pretty well, but it doesnt look durable. I have not had any problesm with it yet, but I have only had it for less than a month. I give this toaster maybe a few months before it stops working or malfunctioning. i do not have too much faith is this brand of toaster. I am extremely happy that I received this as a prize reward and did not pay money for it. Im sure it is really cheap in stores but I would still not consider it.  I dont know! maybe this toaster will prove me wrong, but i serious doubt it.

Traditions T-39 2-slice toaster great buy for the price i paid

3

The Traditions T-32 2-slice toaster is a very good product. I purchased the traditions toaster during the christmas holiday and got a great deal on it. I was in need of a new toaster and the price was right (4.95 + taxes) so i purchased it. The toaster works good, it has 2 large slots that could accommodate bagles. The clamps holds the bread in place without smashing it. The control nob has five setting for desired  cookness. It turns smoothly and does not get hot while the bread is cooking. Now when chosing a desired doneness i perfer the lighter choice. The outer surface of the toaster cleans easily, a little soap and water does the job. The T-32 sits a little higher with the acutal cooking element held together by the handles that do not get hot when in use. The cord is average length and does not get all tangled when moving the toaster to another location in the kitchen, which i do on occasion.  I like my toast lightly toasted and this T-32 gives me the perfect toast. This is a white toaster, very simple and easy to use. There is a crumb catching tray that has a small hinge to release it for cleaning.   The Traditions T-32 2-slice toaster gives a great toast without a lot of bells and whistles. Perfect for the price that was paid. I am enjoying my toast in the morning with my coffee.

Essential Appliance

My first Procter-Silex toaster was the cheapest toaster I could find when I'd just married.  It made great toast, despite the low price tag, and lasted five years, before the elements stopped consistently heating.  It never popped very well, so bagels needed toast tongs, but the quality of the toast made that effort worthwhile. My second toaster was chosen to match the first as closely as possible.  The toast is still good, a bit moist on the inside, crispy and even on the outside, and not tend prone to dark or cold spots.  Bagels fit just fine, too.  The pop-up could still use some work, but I can live with that.  The toaster isn't massive, and it works fairly quickly, so I can make toast for several impatient people, and still have space on my counter.  My mom decided to toss her expensive toaster in favor of a four-slice model, and she much prefers it, too.  Every kitchen should have one of these.

poor quality toaster that has disappointed

1

The procter Silex T-39 toaster has been a huge disappointment.  This toaster has only one thing to recommend it--the low price. Because it didn't cost much, you won't be as upset when you have to toss it in the garbage. It does not toast even a basic item like an English muffin on the very highest setting. Then, if you want to try to get the muffin more toasted by running it through again, you have to stand there and manually hold the lever down, who knows why? Conversely, if you want to remove something before the cycle finishes, the only way to do it is to unplug the toaster. If you like pop tarts, forget it; the instructions say you can't use this toaster to toast them. My last toaster lasted 36 years and performed satisfactorily right up until the day it failed to heat. This one, I'm discarding after 7 months because it has never satisfactorily toasted anything--not bread, English muffin, roll--for me. Proctor Silex should be ashamed to have its name on this piece of junk.

The Procter Silex T-39 2-slice toaster is for those who just want toast, a bagel or a waffle once in a while. It is pretty easy to use. Just be careful, if your just making toast dont' turn the dial too far.
