Multi-functional toaster oven

2

I was thoroughly disappointed in this toaster oven. I purchased this unit in December and had to replace it by June. The knobs fell off and became impossible to turn. I also had a difficult time keeping this unit clean. The door became so greasy and caked on. I will not buy this unit again. Even Heating This toaster oven does heat all foods evenly. From toasting bread to heating food and snacks, I never had an issue with uneven heating. However, I did only own the unit for approximately 6 months before I needed to get rid of it. Safety The top of this unit gets VERY hot. However, it is well labeled with a Caution sign. In the time that I owned this toaster oven I had several instances where the elements began to smoke when I accidentally spilled something on them while cooking. Ease of Cleaning It is difficult to clean the top and sides because of the heating elements. The glass door was difficult go get grease off. Durability I purchased this unit for my family at Christmastime. I needed to replace it six months later. The top knob had fallen off and the bottom knob was so difficult to turn that I decided to just purchase a new unit. Design I ask you to reference my durability comment. The size of the unit was quite nice for my small countertop, I did not find it to be bulky. However, the poor craftsmanship of the knobs skewered any positive comments on the design.

the title pretty much say it all. I cant live without my proctor silex toaster oven! we don't believe in having microwaves in our house so this is the best other alternative to reheating food. we also have a convection oven and i would prefer to have this. I toast everything i can think of. and all i have to do is pretty much set it to how hot i want it and how long i want it to cook. its a pretty much "set up and go" situation. my only peeve would be that when crumbs fall on top of the part that heats up it sticks and then it begins to burn and stink up the whole entire house. you can finish cooking until its clean so then you have to scrub down the gunk from the toaster and it just takes too much time (especially when you're starving!

Proctor Silex Toaster Oven gets the job done

I received the Proctor Silex Toaster Oven as a gift as an appliance for my kitchen.  It is a basic toaster oven with options for simply toasting as well as using it as a small oven.  Having used it for over two years, it has been reliable with constant usage by four college students.  It can be a little difficult to set the time for how long you want the toaster oven to run as it is simply a kitchen timer that is attached to the front of the toaster oven.  A second qualm that I have with this Proctor Silex toaster oven is that it can be quite difficult to clean.  With constant usage, crumbs tend to fall to the bottom of the toaster oven.  When you attempt to clean the toaster oven, there is small door in the back that can be opened.  However, the design still makes it quite difficult to have the crumbs actually come out of this back door.  In addition, I am also a little loathe to apply water to my electronics, which means that the toaster is still a little dirty despite having crumbs be cleared out.

I couldn't live without my Proctor- Silex toaster oven

When I first bought my Proctor Silex toaster oven, I used it for toast, buns, sandwich's etc. One day I wanted to bake some potatoes for dinner, and my family likes them baked in the regular oven, because they come out with a baked skin, and are dry and puffy inside. I  washed four potatoes and prieced them with a sharp knife several times. I placed them in the microwave for 3 minutes, then turned them over and left them for 2 more minutes. (this was done on high) #10 heat. I took them out and put them in the preheated toaster oven and left them until the skin was lighly brown and when I pressed on them they were soft. Since then I always use the toaster oven for baking potatoes. and my family has never mentioned that they tasted any different. I use the Proter Silex toaster oven for alot of things that I used the stove and oven for. I also am saving electricity by not using the stove and oven.
