Bought this about 4 months ago when a similar Black and Decker model started leaking water from the reservoir after 5 years. It has worked great. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee warm for over 8 hours. I'm not joking. I'll make a pot at 6 AM and at 3 PM, I can get a cup and it's still warm. 15-20 seconds in the microwave is all that's needed if you want it really hot. It did take a little bit to figure out how to program the timer and when you set the timer to run, a green light turns on. I had to realize this is a feature and not that the coffee pot is actually on. When the unit is running, there is a red LED that turns on. If you are someone who doesn't want to worry about leaving the coffee pot on, I recommend this unit, as it brews your coffee, then turns off a few minutes later once the pot is nice and warm. Brew Performance It brews great. I recommend getting the reusable filter. It brews a pot of coffee in less than 10 minutes and is pretty quiet too. Ease of Cleaning So far, no issues with cleaning it. The stainless-steel carafe rinses out with cold water. The hot plate wipes clean and i am using a reusable filter, that rinses out with no issues. Ease of Use It took a bit to figure out the clock and the timer function, but once it was set, I haven't had any more issues. Design This is the only thing that could be modified. It is hard to pour water into the reservoir if you don't have the lid all the way open. Also, the pot will spill water if you pour it too fast. The lid of the thermal carafe fits very tight, so this might not be a pot for you if you have arthritis or trouble opening lids. Durability So far after 4 months, no issues.

We bought this coffee maker when our other one bit the dust. Got a great deal on it after Christmas, but not long after I bought it I was ready to replace it. Pros: Makes coffee, easy to set programmable timer, thermal carafe Cons: Water level indicator is in an akward place and is hard to see exactly where the water level is, thermal carafe doesn't keep the coffee warm enough to drink for very long, doesn't make water hot enough to begin with, the lid on the carafe is hard to lock sometimes, basket handle gets in the way when dumping out used grounds unless you're paying attention. I'm not that bright in the morning... It's not the worst coffee maker ever, but it's not as great as I thought it would be. We'll likely have this one until it joins its predecessor because my husband doesn't want to replace it as long as it works. I used to work for Starbucks and they have awesome brewers so maybe I'm jaded, but this just didn't live up to my expectations at all.
