I recently used this gel as a touch up to my twist out. I wanted it quick, big, and fluffy. As with most of the Herbal Essence gels, a little bit goes a long way. If you put on too much, there's scalp caking issues. When set on wet hair, it usually dries in about thirty minutes to an hour. After that point, hair is slightly crunchy, but not dried out and hard to the touch. I waited about a day to unravel my hair. The curls held true with just a little hint of flake and cake. With an afro pick, separating a twist out was a breeze, curls stayed in place, were soft and wavy and easily tucked in or tugged to complete the style of my choice. This gel is the highest hold in the Herbal Essences set. It lives up to its name. It's been a few days, and my curls have spread but are still intact. Unlike most gels that last for maybe 5 days, this has the staying power of keeping the curls until wash day. I'm seeing minimal frizz with all my style in place.

I just completely LOVE my Herbal Essences "Set Me Up" styling gel. I have been using this styling gel for years and would be lost without it. It is a must have for my hair scrunching days! I have found the best results with this styling gel is to apply to wet hair. I have applied when my hair has gotten a little too dry on the ends, and then it just causes frizz, so i just get my hair wet and re-apply. Doing this has always given me the most out of my curls. The Extra Hold that this styling gel offers isn't too heavy as with some products. I find my curls to be bouncy and full of life without the frizz. Without this styling gel my hair looks like one of those frizzed out girls you see on the "before" pics of haircare products, and this styling gel really puts the control back in my curls. Humidity doesn't stand a chance either. This styling gel is my saving grace no matter the weather or season when it comes to great curls and fighting frizz!!

I normal use products like smoothing serum or leave-in conditioner in my hair, in fact I never really liked hair gel as it just kind of left my hair feeling stiff. I love the serum and conditioner and they make my hair smooth, but they do not uphold my hairstyle. So, I went looking for a gel to try. I found this one, I generally like Herbal Essence products and it was a decent price so I decided to try it. The first time I used it, I was amazed. It kept my layered hair in its updo all day and my hair did not feel stiff and funky. I don't use it all the time, and I will admit that when I used it today it did not hold my hair up like it had before; it's possible that I did not put as much in as I normally do. But it did keep my hair frizz-free which is very important to me. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to hold their hair up, but that they should make sure to use a decent amount in order for it to last awhile.

I love this new product.  I am a teacher of special education teacher.  I teach students who are moderately mentally retarded.  I love my class, and part of what our curriculum does is to help our students learn how to have proper personal hygiene.  We are working on washing and combing our hair.  One of the new products that I have given my boys to use is Herbal Essences "Set me up."  This is a wonderful product, and it makes it so easy for my boys to independently learn to spike their own hair.  These boys are able to learn to put a little of the stylig product on their hands.  They rub their hands together and then they are able to put this product into their own hair.  They then are able to use their fingers to get their hair to spike up however they want it to.  It makes helping my boys look handsome so much easier.  They do not become frustrated because this product really works.  The best part is...I have the most handsome group of boys in the whole school!
