The Proactiv Deep Cleansing Wash is a great product. If it is also used with the Proactive three step bundle, and the Proactiv Refining Mask, then your face will for sure stayed cleared up in no time. It's simple, easy to use, and you don't have to use it everyday. I actually use mine probably every two days, in place of one of my normal times to use the three step bundle, in fact, I think it works better if it is used in the morning. Just my opinion though.

I purchased this along with my 3 step system because I get a little bit of acne on my arms and chest every once in a while. When my acne started on my arms and chest I started to use this in the shower as directed. The first time I used it I had no sign of results. The second time and third time I still hadnt seen any results. After two weeks of using it my acne on my arms and chest finally started to some what clear. At my third week of using it all my acne had disappeared. I was fine with having to wait a small while for results but what I wasnt alright with is when I stopped using this product my acne on my arms and chest came back. The acne had came back within 2 days of not using it and it came back ten times worse. I thought that I would only have to use this product every once in a while since I didnt get acne very much on my body. I was so very wrong. The acne on my body was a mess and I became itchy. I then had to go out a buy a different acne treatment for your body and thank god it took my acne away. I was able to stop the acne treatment I bought from the store without my acne coming back. I now just deal with the small amount of acne on my chest and arms because I dont want to have this ever happen to me again. Effectiveness This product took a good amount of time to start working. After my acne had cleared I stopped using it and then my acne came back ten times worse. I had never seen my acne on my body get so bad until I used this product. Ease of Application I only used this while taking a shower. The instructions on the back of the bottle tell you to use it in the shower. It wasnt every hard to use. I just ended up in the shower for a little while longer. Convenience The only time I was suppose to use it is in the shower. At least that is what the back of the bottle says. So it was a inconvenience for me. Especially since I like to go camping and their is not a shower in the middle of the woods. Side Effects This product made my arms and chest break out after I stopped using it. Immediacy This product took 3 weeks before my acne on my body was all cleared up. It was not immediate at all.

I've used Proactiv for years. When I first tried the kit, I saw much better results than I had with generic face washes. Yet, the results took a while and I was not entirely happy. And so I started to experiment with their other products. For instance, my sensitive skin always seemed to get dry after I used the kit, so then I discovered the AMAZING Green Tea Moisturizer. I happened upon the Deep Cleaning Wash in a similar way. As I read the label, I noticed that it could be used on the face and so I tried it. The results were virtually immediate (a day or two). It worked so much better and faster than the face wash in the kit. I've been hooked ever since (years now). I'm not sure if its the salicytic acid in it (I tried the sensitive skin kit, which has that as the active ingredient, but I was unhappy with it) or what, but this just works. So, try it if you disliked the face wash in the kit. My only complaint is the bottle--I wish they still issued pumps to dispense the stuff. It would make it so much easier to use!

A year ago I would have given this a 5 for very good results. At that time it was (by far) the best non-prescription acne product I had ever used. When I was a teenager and my mom would take me to the dermatologist, he would prescribe this cream that had to be stored in the refrigerator. That was the only time that I had a better acne treatment, until now. Proactiv worked well for me when I first tarted using it. It was the first product in a good long while to have any kind of really notable effect on my acne. It's not a product that you can use sporadically though. You have to stick to their schedule. If your get lazy and don't wash your face at least twice each day, your results will not be as good. I've recently switched to an Olay wash that was not sold as an acne product but has really cleared my skin well. I still use my Proactiv face wash from time to time because I do like it though. Effectiveness I find it best, when I'm washing my face in the shower to wash my face, but then go about washing the rest of me before rinsing my face wash off. I read somewhere that many face washes don't work because people don't leave them on long enough for them to be effective. I believe that's true. Ease of Application It's face wash, not rocket science. How hard could it be? Side Effects Proactiv face wash does not irritate my skin the way many acne cleansers seem to. Immediacy Proactiv works pretty fast. You can definitely see results in the first couple days.

I've been very fortunate to have pretty clear skin like my parents of only occasionally get a zit or two at times growing up. I do have super sensitive skin. The place I get occasional acne is on my back. And before knowing about proactiv deep cleansing wash i used to scratch my back leaving some acne scars. But after using this wonderful product for years it has helped me with my back acne and made my acne scars go bye bye. Which makes me feel extra better about wearing tops that reveal my back. To be honest due to my super sensitive skin and extreme bad experience I had previously had of using their acne face products years ago I was very hesitant and scared of trying anything from Proactiv. Apparently after using their facial skincare products the first minutes of getting them from the proactiv cart at great mall in Milpitas CA 10 years ago my skin was sadly allergic to something in it, which made my skin red like a lobster, skin peeled and swollen. I went back to the Proactiv cart salesman to get w refund. But that salesman was insane to tell me why don't I just use it for another two weeks. I was like look what it did to my face after minutes and you want me to use it for another two weeks. I was like what will be left of my face after two more weeks. Sadly my skin wasn't as nice as before. And sadly my pores became visible when it wasn't before. But at least the Proactiv deep cleansing wash works wonders for me without any complaints or bad reactions. I definitely recommend this to my family and friends.

Proactiv Deep Cleansing Body wash does work but no longer on me. I've used Proactiv since 2001, maybe I got used to it cause it no longer worked along with the other Proactiv products I used. It stopped working on my skin about 3 years ago.

I purchased Proactive facial wash, along with several other items from the company in hopes that it might keep my rosacea under control.  I don't always need an acne treatment, but when I get a flare-up, it can be pretty bad.  I guess it's always bad when a 40 y-o woman walks around with acne on her face, but anyway...I purchased the Proactive Facial Wash, along with the other products on a trial basis, and I'm glad I did.  I decided to try one product at a time, even though they are meant to be used together.  Since I have sensitive skin, I wanted to be able to pinpoint if I was having any reaction to the product, one product at a time.  I used the facial wash for approximately 3 days.  During this time, I continued using my reguar moisurizer with sunscreen.  After 3 days, my skin felt "clean," but started to get a little "flaky."  I stopped using the product and went back to my reguar product for cleansing.  Within a couple more days, my skin was so flaky I could't even use makeup, and moisurizer did not help, nor did exfoliants.  I had to wait for the flakiness to go away, which took several more, embarassing days.  I would not recommend this product if you have sensiteve skin that is prone to dryness at all.

**Proactiv Skin Care Products:** I am an avid user of Proactiv products.  I started using them at age 38 - yes at age 38 I was still getting zits! I figured I had to do something so I bought the skin care system at the mall one day.  As with any change in skin care, it always gets worse before it gets better.  But it got ***way*** better than I had expected.  I think in the 2 years I have been using it I have gotten 2 zits which is a huge improvement when comparing my skin to before I used Proactiv.  I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has acne issues at any age.

**I have always struggled with mild-severe acne so I've definitely "been around the block" with most acne treamtments. ** **When I first saw Proactiv please believe I was laughing my butt off! It came off over priced and quite frankly, stupid. First thought was, "what makes this any diffrent then all the other acne step programs?". Well I still can't answer the question but something DEFINITELY is different. ** **I ended up giving in and buying Proactiv a few months after I first found out about it. When I first started using it I have to admit I was little upset about how much work you actually have to put into it. I know that sounds so lazy but its true! When you have to be up at 5AM the last thing you want to do is go through a huge ordeal with taking care of your face. I wish they would have found a way to combine some steps. None the less my face cleared up! Took a few weeks and I really had to stick to it but it sure did clear everything up. Proactiv was a god send for me, I have never seen my face as clear as when I used Proactiv. ** ** ** ** **

I was watching one of those late night TV ad's and the Proactive commerical came up. The commerical made it sound like a dream come true. All you have to do it wash you face and in two weeks your face is clear! Yeah right. I was a teenage girl at the time and had mild acne. I showed it to my dad and begging and pleaded until I got it. It was very expensive but to me any amount of money was worth making my acne go away. I used it for two months before I starting seeing anything happen. Unfortunetly what happened wasn't my acne going away, my acne got worse and my face was turning very red. I was getting these red spots all over. We went to my doctor and he said that I was not having a reaction to the product, it just was not working. He told me to stop using it and go to the store and buy something over the counter that was WAY cheaper. I did and it has worked wonderfully. I have used it for years and I will never reccomend Proactive.
