Most HelpfulQuick View: My then 20-year-old son suddenly started breaking out. Never one to have any sort of acne problem before, he freaked. He tried Murad's system and it was OK but, like his Mom, an infomercial got to him. It was for the ProActiv line. He signed up on the ProActiv website and got his first kit,...

Even as a teen, I never suffered from acne. But years later, bam! Adult acne set in. I tried various over the counter remedies, without success, and finally sought help from my dermatologist. He chalked it up to stress and hormones, then prescribed a regimen of prescription topical products and pills. None of this worked, so I went back and got a different prescription, which still didn't work. Finally, in desperation, I tried ProActiv.
Normally, I don't buy anything hawked in an infomercial, so I was skeptical about the effectiveness of the product line. To my surprise, ProActiv Solution worked...
review »Proactive will clear up your acne in a week. You will see results in two days. I've used clear skin, Neutrogena, Noxema, and Avon products and none of these worked for me. Proactive brighten my skin and its less oily too. I get so many compliments when I go out in public. Now you know I will be telling them to try it out. People usually ask me what kind of makeup I'm wearing because my skin is flawless and smooth. I smile and say no make up can get your face this smooth its Proactive. There are so many products out there standing behind their word of what the product can do but it don't deliver....
review »I am 23 now, but when I was a teenager, I used to have really bad acne on my face, chest and back, I mean REALLY bad. I tried all of the teen things like noxema, clearsil pads, nature's miracle (pills and lotion), cetaphil, everything over the counter. Finally I went to a dermatologist who prescribed me oral medication (not birth control) and a special, really expensive cream that I had to keep in the fridge. Not only did this cream do absolutely nothing, but I had to endure ice cold lotion all over my back 3 times a day! Nope, nothing, nada... I had been watching the proactive commercials on tv...
review »My former roommate was throwing this out, so she gave it to me... I think she was just trying to help me out, really. I have adult acne... actually, I've had acne since I was 11 and it never really went away... and I'm 29. She saw what I went through to keep my skin clear and when I could no longer use Retin-A, she stepped up with this. Anyway, I had a great day at the gym one day, washed up, slathered lotion all over the place in preperation for the sauna (seems a little backwards, but I shave and rinse afterwards) and I decided to try this for in the sauna, thinking it would set in and...

This product isn't what they make it out to be. Yes, it made my skin better but better than OTC? No, the same. The best to do for acne really is prob. go to the dermatologist, if this doesn't work, then prob. try natural alternatives like vitamins and natural cleansing products like LUSH or bath and body works. I tell you what, if you have sensitive skin like me, putting these harsh chemicals on your skin won't work. You need natural products like I use this bath and body works that has grape seed oil extract and tea tree and never had anything work better. I use a LUSH mask and well LUSH...

I hate to say it, but ProActive just didn't do it for me... it was a sad informercial regret in my acne-fighting past.
I felt that the cleanser and the toner were both too mild for the kind of acne that I face (deep in my pores, often under the skin and very red). My face felt good and it did make my skin smoother, but the under-surface zits were still there, just as angry as ever.
My personal opinion is that if you wash and treat your face everynight that you shouldn't need something like ProActive. I think that the reason that ProActive works so well for so many people is because it forces them...
