Proactiv Solution Acne Treatment —

Years ago, I saw an infomercial of "Proactive" and bought it (the kit which included the mask) for my brother and me. Supposedly at that time, it stated in the informercial that it is also for those with "sensitive skin." SO NOT TRUE! Since the first application, it burned my brother's face and also mine. I have sensitive skin but my brother doesn't but we both got the same reaction about this product; "It burns!" IT HURTS! It is not gentle at all. So we stopped using it and I called to cancel the automated shipping and was asked why I wanted to cancel. "You can cancel... no questions asked." Yeah right. Customer support asked me why and kinda tried to convince me to not cancel, (only I don't remember what she had said.)

For a time now, I'm seeing a lot of advertising of this product. Now they have celebrities saying they like it and so forth but we all know that celebrities get paid to say that to attract or convince customers to buy the product.

Proactive Solution didn't work for my brother and me BUT it may work for others, I don't know. Only way is to try it if you like. So my personal review is two thumbs down for "Proactive."

How did I miss ALL of your reviews. I'm going to scan my activity to see at what point I may have "met" you because I can't believe I never read any of your reviews. I guess you have been doing a really good job entertaining me ;+) And at least I have been one of the fortunate ones to cross paths with you. Coincidence? No, God's plan <(*ل*)>
It's funny that you would be doing a review on ProActiv. That was the informercial I used on the famous people board. Did you notice that.

I have very sensitive skin but I was also blessed with a very smooth, clean, olive complexion. I have heard that some skin conditions such as acne can be hereditary. None of my siblings ever suffered from it but my sister's oldest son now has a moderate case of it.

I hope you have found something that agrees with your sensitive skin and makes you feel like you are seeing progress.

I was laughing when I saw Katrena's comment about your "face." Now I don't feel so bad that I didn't recognize the photo as a celebrity one. You are doing a good job at concealing yourself and yet presenting yourself as real. Now I'm on to someone else's reviews--9 down how many more to go? Gigi

My dermatologist said I actually have Rosacea. I'm on medication (a pill) and my face is all cleared up. Yay! Thanks for reading. ;-)

That's terrible. :( Yeah, I so agree. That junk doesn't work for my brother and me either and I have sensitive skin too. They shouldn't advertise it because it doesn't work. I'm so happy you didn't have a problem canceling your order. Since you went to your dermatologist, how is your face? :/ I hope everything is good.

I ordered and used Proactiv for awhile. It made my skin worse and my face looked like I had a sunburn. I had to go to my dermatologist to get my acne under control. Proactiv is not for everyone especially someone with sensitive skin, like me. I didn't have a problem canceling my account, but I've heard awful stories about others having problems canceling. I also wrote a review on my Proactiv story. ;-(

I saw your thread over at the discussion boards and now I know what you meant. :) See you there. :D

Well, now, you could have told me that was you and I wouldn't have known the difference! I hope to read more of your reviews and perhaps "see" you in the discussion boards.

Oh no, that's not my picture. That's the picture of Hudson Leick. She played "Calisto" on the tV show Xena years ago. I wish my skin looked like hers. :)

That's terrible that it kept coming after canceling it! Oh my goodness.

Katrena wrote on Aug 29, 2008 at 5:57PM

The commercials sound so good on this product with all the before/after pictures. If that's a picture of you above, your skin looks beautiful.

PattyTherre wrote on Aug 29, 2008 at 2:03PM

My son used this and we had all we could to cancel the shipments. They just kept coming and billing and coming and billing. We finally changed credit card numbers to stop them. It's harsh stuff!
