I first began using Proactiv when I was a teenager in high school. The product was a miracle worker at that time and I used it all throughout college and into grad school. I had no complaints at all about the product itself; it was the cost that eventually made me give it up.
A few years past and I had adult acne fairly often and all over. After using several different over the counter products, I decided to go back to Proactiv. The cost was a real concern (especially when they tack on 7 bucks for shipping) but I remembered my good experience before.
After 2 months now of using the product, I do not see the remarkable difference that I first saw in high school. Perhaps it is just getting older and hormone changes, but it seems to be taking forever to clear up my skin. Part of Proactiv's marketing scheme is that they say it will "prevent acne from surfacing". I have not found that to be true. I get just as many break-puts as I did before using it, they just don't last as long.
If you are an adult user, I would consider all pros and cons before purchasing this product.
