Planning my recent wedding went from being overjoyed to a daunting task in about 1.3 months. We were in one location, planning for a different location. A lot of my wedding planning relied on the Internet, my phone, and my undying trust in my soon-to-be mother-in-law.

The Search:

She was able to help in almost every aspect since the wedding was in his hometown and she had TONS of local connections. (I.E. 3-tier,4-layer, square cake for under $400). But that's another review for another time. The one downfall was the lack of Florists either in town, or for that matter reasonably priced. Coming from a woman whose parents owned a Flower Shop for 30 years, I'll listen to reality vs. my expectation. We still kept coming up short. We were planning an August wedding in N.C. so heat and durability were two of our biggest concerns. Tulips were out of season, and roses were more expensive than the Callas I found. All the prices for the package I was looking for were easily $3000 and that was with the "friend/family discount".

The Find:

Finally, I started shopping around online and came upon a website my mother recommended. She has always used ProFlowers.com for birthdays, Mother's Day and any other occasion that warrants flowers. On their site, I was able to find the flowers I wanted in the packages I would need and the price was the best part. I actually ordered three separate packages for less than $1900 for hundreds of calla stems ($1862.79 exactly), which included shipping that was insured.

The Product:

The packages I got included a bridal bouquet, two bridesmaids bouquets, 12 centerpieces, 4 mini-bouquets, 4 corsages, 16 boutonnieres and a bulk order of 50 additional stems. The first was called the "I Do Collection" were you can mix and match according to your specific party needs, and the second was the "Petite/Princess Collection" which was for the additional centerpieces since I needed a dozen. The third was actually just the bulk stems themselves for the altar arrangement and food table at the reception.

The Guarantee:

Everything was easy, well-explained (except for the refrigeration directions), and best of all GUARANTEED!! Proflowers.com has a triple satisfaction guarantee. This means that your flowers will arrive three days prior to the date for revival and replacement if at all necessary. If they do need replacing you are given not only an email with a toll-free number, but it's also included in the shipment. They will send you full replacement of your order with no additional charge to you, and for whatever reason, if those need replacement too, they will set-up a local florist in your area, to fulfill your order on time and again no additional charge!

The Service:

They further all this great service with some other features no one else offered. They tell you that vases are not included, but give you the dimensions so there's no guess work. They give you full instructions on arrival and care, and contact if any questions arise. I used this since I got an email saying refrigerate, but directions with Callas said don't. I called to clarify, they apologized for the confusion, gave me the right answer, and corrected it for future customers right there. My initial order was taken by a woman who sounded as excited as I was, so it was like talking to a friend. Every time I called they were eager, pleasant and even said Congrats before leaving the call. I never had to ask for a Supervisor either, they each knew the answer to every question.

The Shipment:

My Flowers arrived in three separate boxes, but all at once at about 10:30am the Thursday before my Saturday wedding. They came fully assembled, packed for minimal movement and each stem was individually wrapped for extra security. They were exactly what I ordered from the pictures. The boxes included all the food, and even though they said they needed to be put in water, you'd never know it took a day to get there since the wrap was still wet.

Payment:

If I had to choose only one feature, it would be the payment options. Most people have to pay the Florist all at once which makes things expensive and difficult at times when buying so many things at once. Proflowers.com only requires a $200 deposit to assure you reserve your flowers for your day since deliveries can get booked quick during "Wedding Season". Then they give you the option of making payments, or sending all the payment at once. Best of all, they keep your information to make paying quicker and easier. Of course, if you change your payment type (i.e. different card), they simply take your info. You get immediate e-mail confirmation, and reminder e-mails about your arrival and steps to care for the flowers when they arrive. They also have a cancellation policy. You can cancel your order up to 14 days prior to delivery, and only get charged 50% of the original order, or cancel 30 days prior and only lose your $200 deposit. You can also change your order up to 30 days before needing them.

All in all, even after the way it started, this turned out to be one of my favorite wedding planning moments. Now, I use them for ALL of my flower arrangement needs.
