I have to say that I picked a couple of these Nascar Giant Foam Growing Cars without reading the package.  My grandson loves playing with Hot Wheels and race tracks and I thought these cars with the Nascar logo would be another fun car for him to push around.

I did see the words "foam growing" and thought that they would just grow maybe twice the size that the cars were.  They came in a package the size of Hot Wheels and were located in the store hanging right next to them.  The cars in the package of the Nascar Giant Foam Growing Cars are the same size of the Hot Wheels and can easily be mistaken for the same kind of metal cars.

I picked up several cars, two of them being #88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and #24 Jeff Gordon.  The package states the cars are for ages 3 and up.

When my grandson arrived that weekend and started going through his toybox, I told him that I had bought some new cars that week.  My daughter got them out of the bag and we proceeded to discover that the new cars needed soaking for several hours to get to the right size to play with them.

We got out a dishpan and filled it up half way with water and put two of the cars into the dishpan.  We watched them grow for about 4 hours and they were almost the length of the dishpan and were still growing.  At one point that afternoon, my daughter took one out for my grandson to play with.  It was deformed and not shaped correctly and slimy.  Ewww.

Since it would take several hours to dry and de-slime--and also revert back to original size, my daughter decided to put it back in the water to see if it would fill out and be more of a perfectly shaped car.

Hours later the cars were a bit larger and still didn't expand or grow properly.  One was really squatted down flat and had no height to it.  The other one had a pushed in rear side.  The color on the cars were also fading.

These cars were a disappointment overall, but my grandson who is in between 2 and 3 enjoyed watching them grow.  I paid around a buck each for them so not too bad for a toy that will give some entertainment if only to amuse kids with watching them grow!

Overall, I have to say pass this one up!

Most of these growing things are nasty and slimy. I told the kids they are worse than those gooey ball things that you squeeze and they look like if they go POP you'll have a huge gooey mess...I agree with your review.

I've never heard of these. They sound kind of weird! LOL I'll remember to stay away from them.

I bought a similar thing, only a turtle. It grew pretty big, but his head stayed little. Not so much fun!

Good to know! I have two boys that would want these. Glad I know they aren't any good!

We experimented with some dinosaur ones last week. Oh well it was fun while we did it but glad it was gone.

Yep, sounds like the same thing all right! I decided to trash them :)

I bought my nephews something similar once and the things grew huge and gooey. They hated them and so do I!

Nice review. Sorry to see that it's not a good product overall, but at least your grandson seemed to enjoy it!
