Let's face it we all like to snack, some prefer healthy snacks while others want something to wake up those sleeping taste buds. I like both but prefer the WAKE UP THE WORLD'S ON FIRE approach. While these will not produce the sweat beads on your forehead, they will wake up those taste buds!

Pringles Extreme blazin' buffalo wing

I will admit when Pringles first showed up I tried them but was not a big fan of them. They are not your traditional "Potato Chips" but rather a mashed, then pressed chip. So being an "Old School" chip lover this new snack just didn't hit my buttons right. Over the years I have tried some of their innovative flavors and a few have been pretty good. This latest attempt at drawing in chip lovers is pretty darn good!

Right from the start the smell of the wing sauce entices your senses and begs you to savor these "Mashed Chips" or as they call them Crisps. The first taste gives you the Hot and then the Vinegar as you chew on them. The flavor lingers and begins to tingle both your lips and tongue with a nice heat and is not too hot to where it hurts. There is enough heat that your sinuses will clear somewhat and the warmth travels down your throat.

Unlike many flavors I have tried over the years there is No Bad Aftertaste to annoy you or take away from the savory flavor employed here. Now I am a "Buffalo Wing" lover and these are the closest I have come to that great flavor in chip form. The vinegar is there but not overpowering it is a more subtle flavor and quite enjoyable.

I want heat but not pain and these Pringles have gone right to the edge but not over it. My son gave these to me as he didn't like the vinegar taste, he prefers the "Burn your Tastebuds" flavors.

Nutritional Facts

Serving size is 15 Crisps (chips)

Calories 150, Total Fat 10g, Saturated Fat 3g and NO Trans Fat. Sodium 280mg, Cholesterol 0, Dietary Fiber 1g, Carbohydrates 14g, Protein 1g and finally Sugar 1g. There is also 6% DV for Vitamin C

Bottom Line

I love the heat, I love the vinegar and I love these Pringles! If I could find the same flavor in a "Normal" potato chip I would prefer them but since most of them overdo the vinegar or heat aspect I can enjoy what these Pringles have to offer me. Why can't the Potato Chip people find this kind of balance? I can only give these 4 Stars because they are not real potato chips. Yes I am still "Old School"!!

Okay, Buddy! You might as well open that front door now and let me in, I'm standing here on the front porch and I even brought my own bowl! HAHA!

This one fools you because it doesn't have that Pringles powder taste the rest have. It sure won me over...Speaking of hungry, the wife is fixing her spice ball chicken soup for supper! I can't wait! ;)

AnnaBanana wrote on Apr 30, 2008 at 4:58PM

Thanks, Ron. You made me hungry. For a while there it was beginning to sound a little like a review of "Deep Throat" (haha, just kidding!) I had given up on Pringles, maybe this will win me over!

The garlic tabasco is a different hot....You get the garlic and hot in layers and it is great on greens as well as chili or stews. It is very similar to the Buffalo Wild Wings garlic sauce (which they rate at 7 on their scale for heat)...in one word YUM! ;)

LOL.......It was the funniest thing for me....I was hanging out with my sister and she dumped hot sause on her collard greens and that made me cringe....UNTIL I took a taste and from that moment on I had an instant love with hot sause! Tabasco Garlic sounds pretty tasty and interesting!

I agree there my friend! I got hooked on Jack Daniels hot sauce real bad...lol I even got hooked on Tabasco Garlic hot sauce and found out they were not going to make it any more, I went to the store and cleared the shelf of it! I still have 10 bottles and that was a year ago....;)
