Princess Cruises - Sapphire Princess Review Summary

As with many cruises, the reviews for Princess Cruise’s Sapphire princess were split with 50% saying they would recommend it and 50% saying they would not. While one of the cruisers found the activities boring, another enjoyed them and while one reviewer complained there was no night life another said they danced every night. The food was criticized by a few of our reviewers but there did seem be an agreement on the fact that the Sapphire Princess is a nice ship.

The cruise to Alaska has chances for everyone to try something new.  I learned to hustle, cha-cha, saw a whale, and ate salmon roe, in one day alone.  If you are lookng for lots of night life, Alaska is not your destination as this destination skews older.  We were among the youngsters on the ship... read full review »

I have cruised 3 times on Carnival, but for my honeymoon, I wanted to try a slightly more adult venue.  We chose Princess mostly for the large ships assuming bigger was better.  The Sapphire is a nice ship, but the space is utilized terribly.  The grand atrium is only 3 sad stories, and the large...

7 day cruise

Sapphire Princess/Mexican Riviera

We took this trip in April 2006.  I am used to the Carribean being warm in April.  The first 2 days on this cruise were very cold.  So cold that no one was out on the deck.  About late afternoon on the 2nd day, we finally got south enough for it to warm up and it was great until we headed back.  The last day was cold again.  I loved the Mexican destinations, but I'm not sure if I would cruise this itinerary again because of the cold days.  To me a vacation should be warm and sunny!

We stopped in Puerta Vallarta first.  This was a great touristy...

Due to the whole Swine Flu outbreak, Princess Cruises was "obligated" to cancel all stops in Mexico.  I don't understand why the money hungry cruise line couldn't just accomodate passengers that DO NOT like the itinerary changes and give them the option to go on a Mexican Riviera some other time...instead now I'm stuck with going on a cruise that I don't agree on and all because of the Passage Contract and Princess' rights to change ports without refunds.

I urge everyone to boycott or at least think twice before choosing to travel with Princess Cruise line.  Clearly they are out to cover themselves...

I got a great deal on this cruise but soon discovered that I got exactly what a paid for - very little. The food (which is one of the great things about cruises) was terrible, with few exceptions. The activities were boring both on paper and experience. There was absolutely no night life to speak of and customer service absolutely non-existent. There was a horrific apathy and distant-ness from the staff and crew. I would very much recommend Carnival over Princess to anyone.
