Princess Cruises - Diamond Princess —
The Diamond Princess is an enormous ship, 3000+ passengers. We sailed from Singapore to Sydney during their 19 day cruise. The variety of restaurants as well as room service helps to break up any monotony of dining at the exact same table, at the exact same time with the exact same wait staff as in the old days of cruising. There is, however, the traditional dining room available for those that prefer that their favorite drink is waiting for them when they are seated every night.
The on-board entertainment is fairly standard as cruise ships go, we look forward to the comedians, for our taste, it's still the best form of show available on board.
The staff are very pleasant, helpful and courteous.
There are so many choices to sit and have a drink or read a book, quiet areas like the library or on the promenade deck are an enjoyable place to pass the time.
We cruise for the love of the sea and to visit places we would never get to on our own, for example, this cruise took us to Vietnam. We would never spend the time or money on airfare and hotels on a separate trip there, but it was well worth a day to see the history there.
We highly recommend a cruise on the Diamond Princess or one of the sister ships, the Sapphire or Emerald.
