In a former life, Prilosec was a heartburn medication that could only be purchased with a physician's prescription.  Like so many other former prescription meds, Prilosec is now available over-the-counter and it is also used for purposes other than heartburn. OK, I had a severe attack of heartburn this morning, and luckily for me, I could reach for my little Prilosec tab to ease the awful pain.  I probably only have heartburn one or maybe two times a month, but when I do, it is severe. — After taking this over the counter med, the pain is gone in less than 10 minutes.  I have never had an episode that Prilosec didn't handle.  Therefore, I can truly say that I rely on Prilosec to ease the pain, and I keep it handy in my bathroom cabinet as well as on my office desk. — It is a little pricey for a package, but then I only… read full review »

I was given a box of this once at a church I attended. I'm not sure how they ended up with them but they were giving away some things and I saw a box and asked if I could try those out. It was amazing how quickly and long lasting this product worked. Once I saw it in the store and that was the end of that. lol I really liked this product.. I am a nurse and with the stresses of work I was suffering from daily reflux. After numerous other medication trials to alleviate the problem to no avail, I paid the money to try Prilosec OTC and WOW it was well worth it!
