I knew that when I watched the latest version of Pride and Prejudice, every bit of it would be compared to my beloved A&E adaptation of the same story. It was hard to imagine that a simple two-hour film would be able to stand up to a magnificent five-hour miniseries. I was fully prepared...

Most HelpfulI won't bother to write out the plot for this since it is such a well-known story, I'll just give my opinion of this particular movie.
Pride and Prejudice starring Kiera Knightly is a seductive, romantic film that will leave you sighing with desire and dreaming of love on the foggy moors of England. I know that when for me, when the movie ended all I wanted was for someone to call me, "Mrs. Darcy." The film is visually stunning with unique cinematography for a period piece. You see the dirt and grime of everyday life up close as well as enjoy the splendor and grace of the social gatherings...
review »I am one of the many people who have enjoyed Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and have enjoyed on-screen versions to varying degrees. This one is the best film version I have seen. A close-second would be the mini-series with Colin Firth shown on PBS. Keira Knightly was excellent. As was Donald Sutherland and the rest of the cast. At first I did not think Darcy was well-cast, but as the movie went on he grew on me.
Excellent settings, period details like the farm animals wandering around the Bennet's household.
Pride and Prejudice. The title alone sends shivers down the spines of high-school students everywhere. By the 2005 movie premiere, memories of English class had left me skeptical. Despite my love for the novel, there were already countless adaptations. After dozing off during the 6-hour BBC miniseries, I did not think the world needed more of Mr. Darcy and his ruffled shirts. However, I was pleasantly surprised by 2005's Pride and Prejudice. The movie is a compact yet loyal version of the classic love story.
Pride and Prejudice stays...
review »I have read Pride and Prejudice twice and seeing this movie brought the book to life. For the short length of the movie, they did a very good job of keeping to the story. It helps that they had an amazing story to work with. The costumes and sets were wonderful. I loved how it had a realistic feel. It wasn't all neat, clean and bright. The dancing was fun to watch. There is also many sweet details to catch, such as the way Darcy flexes his hand or the look in Darcy and Lizzy's eyes when they look at one another.
This is a movie that can be enjoyed by all ages. There is nothing that a...
review »Pride and Prejudice is the best version of Pride and Prejudice to date! Matthew and Keira have such chemistry together - they are so believeable as Elizabeth and Darcy. Now whenever I read the book - I always picture Matthew and Keira as my Elizabeth and Darcy. Very strong characters. It leaves you wanting to know more of the story!

I read the book long before I saw this movie and what a wonderful version of the movie! I was so smitten by it I bought it to watch again and again! I am not what you would call a chick flick lover so this is saying a lot about "Pride and Prejudice."
